Blinking, John stared mutinously at the faint beam of light that sliced through his vision; intensifying an already fairly horrific headache to something close to unbearable. Judging by the thick fuzzy feeling on his tongue and the acrid taste of beer lingering in the back of his throat he had been drunk to the point of practically passing out right now, which explained why the tiny sliver of light the gap in the curtains was allowing in was causing him such pain
