Basics
Name: Becca
Age: 20
Location: Canterbury...but I'm not saying whether it's the NZ or UK one... >:D

Three positive qualities: Intelligent, stubborn, motivated.
Three negative qualities: My mood swings, lack of tact, rather cynical at times.
Describe how you see yourself (go into as much detail as you like): Hmm...where to begin? I've always been a loner since early childhood, and although I do have more friends now than I used to in school, I cannot deny that a lot of the time I prefer to be by myself rather that in the company of others. I'm fiercely loyal to those who I am close to, and can be a little overprotective when it comes to my siblings. While strangers may view my quiet nature as passive and docile, if they get on my nerves, I'm not afraid to lash out at them with my tongue. I'm ridiculously stubborn about things, but will listen to reason if someone talks to me on an equal ground rather than in a patronising or argumentative manner. I have a tendency of working too much on my degree and not giving myself time to relax, much to the chagrin of my long-suffering mum. I've been struggling with depression, because I became accustomed to bottling up my emotions from years of bullying instead of finding a healthy outlet for them. I tend to over-analyse things and read a bit too much into what people say or don't say. I'm not much of a romantic person...my life's not all about finding 'the one' and settling down with them. I'm not sure if I want a relationship. What I do want to be is an awesome bioscientist, and still have time for my family, putting the world to rights and having a nice cup of tea. ...I think that's about it. Sorry, I tend to go on somewhat...
Describe how you feel others percieve you (again, as much detail as you like): Depends...some people might see me as this shy, innocent-looking girl who looks like that she wouldn't hurt a fly. Others might see a mildly obnoxious smartarse with glasses. I'm not very good around strangers, so I often put my foot in my mouth, which has led to some very awkward situations in the past.
Any beliefs or values that you hold strongly?: That anyone should be allowed to love who they want, be who they want, and say what they want. If they say dumb stuff when they open their mouth, it's no-one's fault but their own.
Fears/Worries: Losing more family members, not kicking butt in my exams, and clowns...don't look at me like that, they're a force to be reckoned with!
Hobbies/Interests: Reading a broad range of fiction and non-fiction, solving puzzles, cooking (my master is my stomach...>.<), travelling, making things, collecting fossils and interesting rocks, making a big fuss over my moggy, writing, learning as much as I can from life in general. I also happen to have a caffeine addiction...tea, coffee and chocolate fuel my crazy brain! >:D
Goals/Ambitions: To get a 1st in bachelor's biology, then do a phd in genetics...I'm pretty sure I want to go into that field of research. To do some active work in saving the environment and endangered wildlife. To find someone who loves and accepts me just the way I am, who I'm just as crazy about. To find out just which came first, the chicken or the egg.
Favourite book/s: Cold mountain (Charles Frazier), Neverwhere, Stardust and American Gods (Neil Gaiman), the Harry Potter books (Like I need to mention who the author is...), the strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (Robert Louis Stevenson), the handmaid's tale (Margaret Atwood). I've only recently begun reading the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and I LOVE them. I do have more favourites, but I can't recall any more of them off the top of my head...
Favourite film/s: White Oleander, the Color Purple, Dancer in the Dark. I also have a guilty pleasure of watching crappy horror and sci-fi B movies, because their shameless abuse of science and logic makes me laugh while a tiny part of me dies inside.
Favourite TV show/s: Doctor who, Torchwood, Supernatural, Sherlock (obviously), QI, Mock the week, Being Human, N:CIS and Criminal Minds.
Favourite music: My musical tastes vary so much. I enjoy musical theatre, such as Avenue Q, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and Cats. I also enjoy some classical music and rock. Sometimes a few stray pop songs amuse me, but most don't. I guess I'm a bit of an anachronism when it comes to my musical tastes...quite a bit of the best music has come from the past.

Either/Or
Safety or Adventure: Adventure. I need that adrenaline high.
Introvert or Extrovert: Introvert...I try to appear more confident than I am, but deep down I'm ridiculously introverted.
Optimist or Pessimist: An optimistic pessimist. I'm more of a realist than anything else
Follower or Leader: Leader. I dislike blindly following orders.
Hyper or Calm: HYPER :D It's more fun that way.
Mature or Immature: Mature.

Reactions and Interactions
How well do you cope under pressure?: I used to panic and freak out when I didn't have much confidence in myself. Now I am more rational about dealing with things that I need to get done, and will focus on the task at hand.
How do respond to authority and/or authority figures?: ...not that well. I went to a school where religious views were shoved down my throat and the authority figures were hypocrites because they were meant to be people you could talk to if you were being picked on, yet they turned a blind eye to all the glaringly obvious bullying that was going on.
If I know an authority figure to be a good leader who cares about my opinions and acknowledges me as a person, then I'm fine with them. If they're addicted to their power, they can just go jump off a cliff. I'm not going to be their ardent sycophant.
How do you interact with your family and friends?: I'm very close with my family, even if I don't get to see them as much as I would like to. Since my dad died, I worry more about them and make more of a conscious effort to keep in touch with everyone. When we're together, we sometimes act like kids again and tease each other, but do have intelligent conversations and debates.
With my friends, I'm hyper sometimes, calm at other times, try to make them smile and make food for them when they're feeling down. I listen to their problems and give them advice if they want to hear it.
How do you interact with people you don't know?: I'm distant, shy and private. I like to keep my cards close to my chest.
Do you tend to respond to situations in a more logical or emotionally based way?: More logically than emotionally. I'm not a cyberman, I do have emotions, but living with my heart on my sleeve just ends up with me getting hurt. So I use logic to respond to most situations, unless the situation calls for an emotive response.
How far would you be willing to go for the greater good?: I'd give my life if I was sure that the effort wasn't futile.

Sherlock
Favourite character: I really can't decide between Moriarty, John and Sherlock...they're all great!
Which character do you feel you are most like?: Possibly Moriarty, if he actually had morals.
Which character do you feel you are least like?: Molly...silly girl needs to grow herself a backbone!

Anything else?:
