Hello, thank you all for accepting me into this community. I'm new here, but not to the fandom. I have a request that may or may not be possible to fill. I know there are a lot of post-Reichenbach fics out there about Sherlock returning to London damaged in some way: suffering from debilitating injuries, illness, PTSD, etc. that have rendered him weak and vulnerble in a way he never was before, thus forcing his friends to forgive him out of pity and compassion. I love these stories, but right now I am looking for the exact opposite: fics where Sherlock's experiences in taking down Moriarty's network have forged a much stronger man, both physically and mentally.
In short I'm looking for a BAMF! Sherlock who is unafraid of the truth. When his friends confront him with their anger and hurt, he accepts it, but quietly counters their righteous indignnation by letting them see that they are not the only ones who suffered. Forgiveness, when it comes, is borne of the realization that Sherlock gave up everything he was to protect those he loved, and in the process had to do things and see things that, rather than breaking him, turned him into a warrior. Extra special bonus points with a cherry on top if this realization were somehow tied back into Lestrade's words to John about Sherlock being a great man who might one day be a good one. Does such a fic exist? Or might someone be persuaded to write one?
Secondary request: Fics where Sherlock hooked up with Irene during his long hiatus from "being Sherlock" and they either got married or produced a child, or both, then Irene died for real and Sherlock returned to London grieving his wife/learning to cope with being single parent.
