Dark!John
I absolutely love fics with Dark!John, where he's drawn to Sherlock because he's addicted to danger, and without Sherlock he has to get his fix elsewhere. Or fics where John goes a bit dark or Crazy after Riechenbach. I still like a happy ending though.
More than anything I love fics where Sherlock is actually John's moral compass, though it's more commonly seen the other way around.
