Eee, this was awesome!

First off, I'm so thrilled you decided to remix this story. I have such a soft spot for this one and you did an amazing job with it!

I think my favorite part of the whole fic is this exchange:

"I didn’t lie - " Sherlock stops at John’s face.

"Liar," John says. Outside, the storm rips out a whole sheet of sky, filling the rock entrance with galvanic light. It gives him a vision of Sherlock’s face, pale and oddly stricken. "Lie upon lie upon lie, Sherlock. Lies by omission, so easy they never leave even a tiny dent in that almighty mind of yours, because you. Never. Think. Of telling me. And why would you? Hmm? Why waste precious time telling dull, pedestrian John about your comings and goings? It’s not as if he was anything like, say, a fighter. Or a partner. Or even a whotsit, you know, six-letter entry, pops up in your Sunday crossword now and then. A friend. The only one, Sherlock."

Super intense and climactic and I can really picture it. Very in character. I love it when John has hidden depths and is able to call Sherlock out for being wrong (both things that are very much going on in this fic).

I was really fascinated by John's backstory and I thought you did an amazing job with it. I know I mentioned John's final mission in passing in the original and I really love your interpretation of it (and of John being a liar like Sherlock). I love that rescuing Sherlock resurrects all of these old memories of John's and that Sherlock is there to listen (for once).

I just really enjoyed this and you did a tremendous job. Well done!
