Life and Death - as combined in a pack-
It may sound romantic, appealing,
But I 've been both there and back,
And I know, what IS the feeling.
I had not read the script, I had not seen the chart,
It had been - for me - "road not taken"
By the time that I felt my preposterous heart
Leaping, bouncing, kicking and aching.
Years darted past me in a flash,
I encompassed my life as a whole...
Instantaneous light - and a crash,
Like a suddenly broken pole.
Like a six-meters long downflight
For a helpless and poleless vaulter
Who has reached and enormous height.
As it proved to be - only to falter.
Life and Death - as a hazardous game
In which both are alternately dealing.
Should you lose, should you win - all the same,
If you know, what IS the feeling.
