A Barrister

Dec 24, 2006 12:50

The organisers of the Guernsey Chess Festival (the last tournament I have up to now been participating in) have set a score of so-called special prizes (mostly, souvenirs). Almost all of them (to the oldest and youngest participants; to the players who had to travel the longest distance to arrive at the island etc) were duly awarded during the closing ceremony.
All but one: the prize intended for the participant who had spent most of the tournament time in the bar. Unfortunately, the prize-winner was not present at the ceremony because he was being too busy...in the bar!

Merry Christmas to all - and a successful 2007.
