Things learned today:
1) My oven has a grill setting... (Yes I have lived here for nearly three years)
2) Laughing and hiccuping hurts. (

3)
John Dory literally means 'edible fishing boat'. The OED says that 'dory' is a type of fishing boat, and that 'John Dory' is an edible dory. (We were watching 'The Great British Menu' and after a lengthy discussion about why a John Dory is called so we got the dictionary out.)
4) Not only can we not wear swimwear, but we can't wear transparent or invisible clothes.
The Sherlock Holmes society trip to Prague looks really exciting! (6th - 9th September)
- 4 star hotel (
www.hotelpyramida.cz)
- 72hr transport pass
- vintage tram commissioned solely for the society (by the Czech Sherlock Holmes Society) to use for a sight seeing tour
- specially arranged exhibit at the Museum of Czech Police (by the Czech Sherlock Holmes Society)
- special showing of the 1936 German Hound of the Baskervilles
- River cruise with buffet
- + other fun
Three snags: it's £325, you need to book/arrange own flight and I'm terrified of flying.
*sigh*
maybe one day.
