After my disaster trying to get Ubuntu onto my old laptop and inadvertently formatting the hard drive, my boss (well deputy-boss) managed to sort out the hard drive so all it needs now is an OS... due to a non-working CD drive I'm having to create a bootable USB drive with Ubuntu on it... so far so good although it still takes my laptop about a

you can try Minibuntu or Fluxbuntu for your old laptop to boot up and run faster.
