And Just When I Thought Things Would Be Normal Again.

Okay, repeating a day over and over, I can accept. Sharing dreams, sure. A talking house, death rays out of nowhere, and spontaneous human combustion. All of that, fine. But how I got from Oregon to New York on one very blurry night....I think I would remember the airport. Right? Even a second sun makes more sense than all this. What the hell ( Read more... )

Heh, and here I thought I'd seen some strange things. Well, I'll tell ya this much, sir; if you're fine with most of that business, you should be able to get along in this city pretty smooth. There's a lot of weirdness lingerin' around, that's for sure.

Though I'm afraid I can't tell you how ya got here. None of us really do.

I wouldn't say that. Waking up three thousand miles from home with no memory of travel kind of tops the weirdness scale for me. And the state this city is in really puts it off the charts.

There's gotta be an explanation. Some sort of....virtual reality? Or...dimensional tempral shifty stuff?

True enough. Try telling that to the folks who arrived from another dimension.

Well, we're all still trying to figure out exactly the details of what-why-how, but for now it's like black holes, only in reverse. ....now that I mention it...

How long has all of this been going on?

Been here about three months m'self, but I think it started all the way back in May.

So we're talking what...four, maybe five months?

December now, that adds up to eight. S'when Big Mama first showed up, from what I gather.

DECEMBER?!

I guess the snow was somewhat strange. But...that means...two months are just GONE. It IS still 2008, right? I didn't lose YEARS or anything, did I?

You're lucky on that account. Still '08, but I believe there's at least one person around who popped in from the seventies.

I suppose that would be better than someone for the fifties...

I think there was someone from the fifties, not sure on that front though. This place really has no preference for where you're from. A lot of people arrive with no idea who Frank Sinatra is about how this entire planet functions. S'kinda nuts, the variety you get.

And here I was thinking I was going to be getting away from every day weirdness.

...how can you not--You know what, I don't want to know. I had a talking dog telling me there were giant monsters loose around her. I'm starting to think I ate something I really shouldn't have.

Sadly, you'll get it up the wall around here. I came from a pretty strange place, but this city just keeps me guessin'. You're gonna need to get used to the feeling, I'm afraid. Makes things a lot easier... or as easy as it can get, considerin'.

This all is business as usual for me, if you'd believe it.

But how I'm going to find out the how and why and get everything back to normal with out Henry or Jo or anyone is beyond me.

Well, good news is there's a sizable crew workin' on that part. It's hard to know just how close we are to crackin' the code, but there's definitely some kinda progress bein' made.
