Sigh

Eventually you reach that point in your job search where you've applied to everywhere in a 25 mile radius that's accepting applications and all you can really do is check Craigslist and Monster everyday for new postings and when they don't have anything, you just sort of sit around all day feeling useless. This is the worst, most hopeless feeling stage. When none of your interviews have panned out and you can't even get that productive feeling you get from spending the first half of the day searching and applying. None of the stuff you do to entertain yourself is really that enjoyable, because that useless do-nothing feeling is in the front of your brain all day. You can't focus because you're thinking "There must be someplace I haven't looked." "Maybe one of the places will call me today." "Why haven't they gotten back to me about my interview yet?" "Is that an e-mail from-?...no it's just spam." "Why isn't the phone ringing?" "Why didn't that recruiter give me her number?" "Is one of my old bosses giving me a bad reference?"
And there's nothing you can do. I just need a job!

job search, work, griping
