Sherlock: The Reichenbach Fall

Jan 15, 2012 17:58

Okay, here's my theory: Sherlock was wearing some sort of padded suit because he knew one of them was gonna go over the ledge, but he didn't know if it would work, so he said goodbye to john and when he jumped he split his head open and fell unconscious, then the obviously fake paramedics took him away (there was no ambulance and they took him into an alley, come on!) They were clearly arranged by Molly who is his confidant in this charade (that's what he needed her for) instead of Mycroft, like in canon.

Now with that out of the way: That was AMAZING!!!!! Everything I hoped it would be. I love that John never doubted him for a second. Complete faith and unconditional love. That's classic Watson. When Donavan said that finding them through the footprint was amazing, I thought she was making nice at first, making up for the years of being mean to him. Then she starts up with that "Oh, I bet he actually did it" again. Nice character development! /sarcasm  Moriarty was so delightfully out of his little mind. I loved it. I thought they were going to go with "You were the best and wisest man I've ever known" like the canon, but they went for the Spock option, "Most human." And even in death John has faith in him. Part of him doesn't believe he's really dead. I will say that I am disappointed that they didn't do some variation on "Believe me to be, my dear fellow, very sincerely yours", some admittance of love from him like that, during the phone call. I hope so much that they do a 3rd series!
