the reason I think God being omniscient is an exaggeration is because a) I believe there is an infinite amount of knowledge. b) I don't believe someone who knew everything would communicate to people in the way that God did. For b, take someone who is "omniscient." That means that that person can throw a cubic die and know which face will come up. The calculations required in this process are immense, and any changes in the throw are reflected in these calculations. The sheer immensity of this prediction indicates an intelligence 1000+ years ahead of anything today, if it is capable of 100% correct prediction, every time, no matter how the person throws it. Now, if God is able to do all this without calculators, just in his mind as he observes the roll, it indicates enormously sophisticated thought processes. I don't see this evolutionary superbeing rolling along in an ark calling out to the enemy the grievousness of their assault on the Israelites. Why not just tell the Israelites how to make a military laser to attach to the front? And it could be powered on sand, or air or some other mineral the Israelites have in abundance. God did not relay a single item of technology in his dealings with his people.
But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe rolling along in an ark is where it's at. -- A team was sent in to collect the dripped off faces after God revealed himself.
