Reading Festival.
So yeah i haven't updated in a while because i was on holiday, living it up dirty style in a tent at Reading Festival :o) I'll update day by day i think that's easiest.
Wednesday
So after meeting Shelley at the station we got on the train with pretty much no problem but then the train was delayed by about 15 minutes which sucked but we managed to get to Reading with relatively no hitches apart from the fact in the end we became late by about 3/4 of an hour..the time that Matt had been waiting at the station for us..*eep*. And then he got pissed off further by the fact me and Shell 'followed the crowd' and went out the back way and took a major detour before getting to the front of the station. Matt was not best pleased but was happy when he saw my hair hehe. And then we hauled ass to McDonalds first actually and then to the campsite (i managed to get away with carrying hardly anything because i moaned so much..). And then we met up with some of the Cardiff people and camped near them and then later we met up with Anna and had drinks with her which was fun but then i got quite drunk and me and Matt went to found Anna and found a drunk Sam instead so listened to him on guitar and then i got taken to bed i think because i was drunk and tired. But then i got up later on and met Anna & Shell again..was all rather random, the doughnuts were lush tho! :D
Thursday
So the rest of the people came today, the Whitchurch crew, althouhg when we got back to our camp, we realised lotsa manky people that we didnt know were there so i said i didnt wanna stay, plus there was no round for anyone else to camp. So we moved our camp to make a circle with the Whitchurch boys in another field and that was better and then later on we met up with Jess & Di and took them to camp and they set up. Cant quite remember what happened this evening so will just leave it :\
OH: Shelley ended up getting drunk & pulling Owain and rollign around with him on top of the tent!
Friday
Well today we went into town earlyish to get breakfast and we got pillows from the poundstore: light relief camping on that hard ground! Although we were really long in coming back which meant that i missed Finch which i was really really sad and angry about because i love them and was really looking forward to seeing them, but oh well, i'm sure they will be touring soon. So then we were in the arena and for most of the day we just hung around (which i think pissed off Shelley) but we watched:
Fenix TX : who were shite
New Found Glory : who i thought were pretty damn cool but Matt moaned and was angry allll the way through *GRR*
White Stripes : dont like them so only listened to abit but apparently they were really good..
Weezer : my band of the weekend by far i think! They played almost ALL of the blue album and other favourites, did an amazing performance, Rivers was sweet, they interacted with the audience and were just WOW. I <3 them muchly.
That evening i think i went to bed ill with sunstroke because i got sunburnt like a bitch but it was so cold, it was really sweet but funny that Matt didnt know what to do but oh well..i felt like so shitty that night.
Saturday
Spent most of my day at the Concrete Jungle stage. I have to mention here the band of the DAY i think. Anna & Sam who i mentioned were camping with a couple of the guys from Lightyear coz they part of the 'derby crew' and just YES. Lightyear were utterly fabulous, talented, great, they played Blindside my fave which was soooo good and Matt got sweaty and they played Apache Indian 'Boomshacalak' and did this drum sticks thing in the middle of the last song which was just so so good! So yes a million points for Lightyear.
Saves the Day & Get up Kids: good but average..
Dashboard Confessional: beautiful absolutely beautiful
JimmyEatWorld: yyyyyyayyyyyyy i <3 jimmy and altho they had a shitty mic so you couldnt hear WHAT they were singing they were great!
Sick Of It All: they proved why they were top of the bill. i saw bEE again hehehe which was fun and yes good set good music, amazing audience interaction, they were just really good.
Andrew WK: couldnt not mention him! what a guy.they are all insane and smile constantly but were good fun to watch.
Met bEE and Steve afterwards but then had to go and get my wallet because i had lost it but it had been handed in at lost property..and then a day later i found out the bankcards had been nicked :o(
Tonight when we got back Sam and Anna turned up and Sam was really drunk and sputing loadsa crap which was SO FUNNY apart form Darren and Kip werent getting any attention so immediately dismissed him as a wanker whichw as so obvious and really pissed me and Matt off. So we hung out with them at our camp for awhile just watching Sam and laughing (most people were laughing) and then we decided to go back to their camp so as to cause major arguments with others. But we didnt stay long at theirs, Shell turned up drunk & by that time i was rather drunk and Matt was abit. So we walked home and me and Shell were being stupid and knighted Matt as a 'dawg' with a bottle of hock which was amusing.
Sunday
Was main stage day mainly. Missed Dillinger and the lead singer shitting on himself coz was having ben and jerrys yummy with bEE. She gave me a talking Powerpuff doll, it kicks ASS :D and she bought some funky socks. I bought a pink beanie and some beads the day before too.
Puddle of Mudd: ok, good singing and sound but no interaction whatsoever and they were just dull so we left.
ReelBigFish: just caught 'Take on Me' which is my favourite anyways, which i thought was very good but of course Matt was bitch moaning so meh..
Hundred Reasons: were pretty good, felt sorry for them for the powercut tho
NOFX: hehehe they were drunk but GREAT!! i never liked them but they were pretty fantastic really, it was obvious they didnt wanna be there etc but yes very good show :o)
Incubus: went down the front for them with the screaming girls and got nice photos of brandon :D got kicked in the head 3 times and nearly got trampled on but they were pretty good. Didnt like their attitude: get on, play, get off though.
Was abit pissed off at Matt at this point because he said he'd meet me after Incubus so out i come really sweaty and tired and in need of a hug and some water - i had no money because of my bandcards being taken, and he wasn't there. So i worried and worried that i'd got the right place and waited and looked for 3/4 of an hour and then Jess and Di foud me by accident and i went back to camp with them and it turned out he'd fallen asleep and not come. I just felt sad and let down because when i'd needed him & he'd said he'd be there, he wasnt. He felt really guilty tho but..doesnt take it away does it. Oh well.
Slipknot: missed them, seen it before and couldnt be arsed
Offspring: i thought they were good, especially the old stuff
Prodigy: watched 2 songs and then went because i couldnt be arsed basically.
And then that night we all stayed up and had a msssive fire but i had a rash and sunstroke again so kept falling asleep and waking up etc. Shelley got well drunk and slept in a tent with Owain again *rolls eyes* and then we JUST got on the train in time back home :o)
The reason i'm worried is because that i'm still £300 in debt into my overdraft and my rent for the house comes out in a couple of days, thats £250, so thats gonna take me right back where i started which really sucks and i'm just worried about how i'm gonna cope really..:o(
