Oh I so needed this, loved the team love and I never get tired of hypothermia fics. What I really liked about this was it being from Teyla's POV, her instinctual, no nonsense , in control direction to take care of John. Its rare to read her thoughts and I adored the fact that the team 'hug' was seen as a practical way to treat John.
Your descriptions were very vivid, really well done.
Lovely turn of phrase here:
Placating assurances to bring temporary peace to the mind could not be called hope. This, here, now - the feel of cool quaking skin, a heart beat and moving chest; seeing the motion of John's throat and the flutter of his pulse; the smell of old cloth and three scents distinct for each man; and three separate tenors of gentle breathing: bass, loud and quick
Thanks. I almost started it off with Sheppard's POV, but felt it should be all Teyla's. I don't write her as much as the others and felt it was her turn. And I love using hugs as a way to show affection. It allows for something sweet without it turning sexual.
And that was actually my favorite line to write. :)
Ooo - nice! *shivers* There's something about snow and freezing that never gets old when it comes to whump possibilities, IMHO! This was lovely, hit the spot, really. Though I sort of wanted a tad bit more (any worthwhile fic does leave a taste of that!), I think you ended it perfectly. Thanks for writing this! :D
Thanks. I almost wrote an infirmary scene, but once I reached the end felt that it would have been too much and unnecessary. However, if someone would like to do an infirmary scene tag, I'm okay with that.
