Did you read the article?

Gratis Network is the company that owns all of the free ipod and such websites.

There's also an article about it at Wired.com and a news report about it here.

I'm too lazy for that... who are they and why are they giving them out? The article seemed to only talk about how they're doing it.

Damn your laziness. :P I put that article there cause I was too lazy to explain it! Basically, Gratis is paid by the companies they advertise. And in order to get people to sign up for these companies, they have to offer things that appeal to people, i.e. iPods ( ... )

You have to sign up for an offer. The survey stuff you can all say no to.

If you sign up for the Efax offer, it's a thirty day trial and you can just cancel it after a week and won't be charged.
