Still disconnected from the world

I’m not sure if I can handle another day at the NB house without Internet access. Right now I am home down the shore after a 6-day absence and the first thing when I did when I got here was log on and check my overflowing email box. We are supposed to get cable Internet this week - and thank god for that b/c I was experiencing some signs of LJ withdrawal the other day. Luckily, I have managed to keep busy with other things… for example, NYC Pride.

Yesterday morning, Mike and myself rendezvoused at the NB strain station with Ant, Steph, Jen, and Justin to head into NYC and down to the village for the parade. We totally lucked out and snagged a spot on Christopher where there was tons of shade and a cool breeze continually blowing through the crowd. The showing was really good and we all had fun while cheering on old lesbian women with rainbow colored mowhawks and half naked men with sunglasses and house keys dangling from their nipple piercings. Afterwards we waded through droves of loud, pushy, sweaty people in search of a quiet cool place to eat. Perhaps it was the vodka-spiked Gatorade that kept big grins on all our faces through that minor adventure. The rest of the day into the evening was properly spent bar-hopping into the wee hours of the morn with a little bit of playing Yenta for our lesbian company on the side. Thank god Mike was there to take care of me and get my sloppy ass home - I wouldn’t have made it without him.

Speaking of Mike, we are now well over the 2 month point and I love every single moment (not to mention, I’m loving him). We are already talking about promise rings to establish symbol of our mutual commitment to the relationship. I think it is a great idea and I can’t wait to jump right on in. :-)

This afternoon I’m going to (finally) pick the car up from the dealership on temp paperwork. Cure is still processing my permanent insurance. I still can’t get over the way this State is run… not only are the premiums high, but you have to wait a century just to get the docs. Double Oy Vey!

Well, after tonight I probably won’t be home down the shore much more - so until Comcast gets their asses over our house to wire everything up I’ll be bidding LJ-land a wee adieu.
