Work on rhythm, cross feet, and watch your batters, dammit!

Saturday, I Feised it up with the Ruane family (partially). This year’s competition went particularly smooth relative to Feiseanna in previous years. Maybe it was because this year I arrived at 11:00? In any event, the day was filled with the usual handing out of adjudicator’s comments and marks to many difficult parents. Apparently, this year we had a security guard on duty - something about one of the crazy mothers threatening to smash one of the kids faces into the ground on a previous occasion. I swear that some of these parents are over the top. The highlight of that day was getting to see Lisa, Ed, Kerry, and Monica - I think its amazing how even 5 years after graduating high school we all still manage to occasionally spend time together.

In other news: I bought a car Friday night - after three days of negotiations I signed my future income away on a black 2003 Honda Civic EX. Now, I’m just waiting for NJ CURE to come through with my policy. That process takes 12 days. As a result, my car is sitting on the lot for at least another 2 weeks. The buying process here in NJ completely fucked up. You (pretty much) can’t get a car w/o insurance, but you can’t get insurance w/o a car.

Now it is a whole week since I have seen Mike. I’m starting to get a bit anxious about our absence. It isn’t anyone’s fault; rather we just have come across a week where there has been very little available free time. One calming point to note is that we will be getting together on Wednesday. I really love him and I can’t wait to hear his sweet voice see his adorable face!

Our landlord finally installed a carpet for my room up on Hamilton. The housemates have told me that the mildew smell from our flood went away for the most part. That means that I will be moving this coming weekend. W00t!
