I just realized that, for better or worse, I really haven't changed much since I was a sophomore in high school.
See, that was the year that I joined the cross country team and turned into a distance runner. I also joined the student council and got a small taste of "government." Plus, since I've always been a bit of a dork, I looked forward to certain classes more than others. Namely, English, History, and writing.
And today? I'm a big into distance running and competing in road races. Heck, I'm having one of my best years and putting up some great times. So far, I've set new PRs in the 5k and the half marathon (twice), and am gunning for a new PR in the 10k. I'm still into politics, and if anything, the passage of time has made my "mostly conservative, a little libertarian" views more staunch. I participated in a presidential caucus for the first time this spring, and wrote a Master's thesis exploring an aspect of Ted Cruz's campaign. And finally, I'm still a bookworm and still looking to get my hands on anything I can learn from. Right now, I'm actually reading two books at the same time, just alternating when I read them. One is "Bowling Alone" by Robert Putnam, about how we have become more socially isolated over time, and also "We The Living" by Ayn Rand. Plus, I put in an order for five more books on Amazon that will be arriving in the mail this week.
So after all this time...I'm still me.
