This Mornings Dream

So... they say that your dreams reflect the issues your brain is dealing with / is a recap of your day. I had a very interesting dream this morning. However, I don't think it is about me, but possibly a few of my friends.

-entering dream sequence Wayne's World style- dododododo... dodododo... dodododo... dodododo...-

So in my dream I was in my old apartment complex, the home of my very first apartment. And 1/2 of it was burnt down. The burning damage stopped right before where my apartment use to be. My mom was there; my narcissistic aunt and uncle HAD an apartment there (prob another ENTIRE issue); and I visited my old apartment which had been spared damage. (BTW... all the apartments were green on the inside... forest green/teal-ish carpet and walls with brown wood cabinets and appliances (brown, not wood) - this prob means something, but not sure right now.)

How the entire rest of the complex was a hollow gutted shell. It looked like an large, old, southern mansion that had suffered sever internal damage. The walls were still standing but everything on the inside was burnt and gone.

The property manager was showing us around blah blah blah... this is the work they plan to do, etc... etc... and a few other people were milling around checking out things as well... then I woke up...

So what I took from this dream is that who ever is the "owner" of the "building" has two choices. #1. Rebuild and repair from what is left. or #2. Knock it down and start from scratch. The appearance and "damage" to the building was severe enough to go either way; but it is up to them to make that decision.

My personal thought is: If you rebuild, the old damage will still always be there underneath all the new/good stuff you build on top of it.  If you tear it down and start from scratch, you are starting fresh with no underlying damage and you have a stronger, more solid foundation to build from.

It is up to the "owner" to decide which is more important - preserving the history of the building and reconstructing it to the best of their ability. In the process making it better than before.  OR moving on and starting fresh becuase there is to much damage to repair.

So this is my interpretation. Since my own apartment was spared damage, I do not feel that this dream applies personally to my life, but to those around me. Which goes to show that I think of you all and worry about you all a lot....

Either that, or I am complete nuts and my friends are playing kai tricks on me and my dreams in the middle of the night :)
