Author's Notes: Written for prompt set #138 at sg1_five_things. I don't believe they ever made it back, but to honor the prompt I found a way for it to happen anyway.

Five things that happened after the crew of the Destiny made it back to Earth
Pigs flew.
There was peace on Earth.
Global warming reversed itself and the world climate stabilized.
The Littletown Sand Crabs won the World Series.
Hell froze over and all the little devils went ice skating.
Oh, they made it back to Earth, all right - but nobody ever knew it, and the Destiny crew, having mastered ascension after eons of isolation and direct neural interface with all of Destiny’s resources, and ultimately the entire combined knowledge of the Ancients, returned to their place of origin completely unrecognized by the descendants of their former families.
It had been Eli’s idea to tinker with time travel, yet again, and Brody figured out how to loop someone back in time. Rush was chosen as the most believable Ancient, and it was his idea to send Destiny on her long journey in the first place, making sure things would happen exactly as planned.
And so Lisa Park, still a vegetarian after all those years, with Volker’s help made it happen that every pig’s fondest dream came true, and there was no more cruelty to animals, as they lived as equals among the people of Earth. Volker engineered new food crops that ended world hunger and fed all of Lisa’s animal friends as well.
Ronald and Camile, who had both developed into powerful peacemakers, used their special talents to bring contentment to every human being, as well as tolerance and an insight into welcome differences and an appreciation of diversity. Wars became a thing of the past.
Vanessa and Varro, the ever-practical team, fixed the global warming issue that had since turned into a runaway greenhouse effect on a scorched Earth. Varro gently shielded the planet from the most harmful radiation, and over time the polar ice caps increased in size and green returned to the land, and the whole world was Vanessa’s garden and she tended to every flower, tree and fern with loving care.
Matt and Chloe, supreme fighters for the perennial underdogs, brought glory and joy to those who needed it most - people who were sad or mourning, people devastated by disease and illness, people ridiculed by their peers because they could not see their true talents. And so a tiny unknown team rose to great fame, and everyone got their fair share of happiness.
TJ and Young, champions of the Fallen Ones, of those who nobody wanted to deal with, of those shunned by everyone, of those who Made Big Mistakes and never recovered from them - they saw to it that even the darkest of hearts found moments of joy, and a chance to escape their predicament and start over. What was once a volcanic cauldron turned into a winter wonderland of laughter and playfulness, and even those who had been in the shadows for as long as they could remember stepped into the light and turned their pale faces towards the sun, holding hands, smiling.
And the crew of the Destiny saw what they had done.
And it was good.
