This episode was so freakin' adorable it was almost nauseating, haha. I loved it! Gonna have to snag a few like 44. And 125 and 126 are way cute too. Everyone was all smiley this episode! Of course, with the dog involved, it's no surprise.
Haha, yes, only almost. Actually, I loved it. I always call things I love so cute/adorable/sparkly/etc. it's almost nauseating.
I know right? I kept wondering why on earth Natalie didn't say anything. I guess Monk really didn't know...that or it's some kind of new "ice cream for dogs" product :P
I don't claim to know much about dogs as ours is only about 8 months old, but we don't give her lots of ice cream, or whatever the heck Monk was giving her when she was giving birth.
Did you catch what was in the bowl by her?
And how adorable was the family opening, except why no Julie? the perfect excuse to have her in the show and she's a no show :(
Monk feeling lonely(not really the adorable part) but him going for a hug off Nat's family.. odd for him. Nat inviting him, the niece mistaking him for her uncle, Monk takes his jacket off!, Nat calling for him to be in the family photo... that was all adorable...
Don't get me started on the Julie thing! I mean it was driving me crazy. I seriously don't get why they don't involve Julie more than they do. Is Emmy on some bizarre contract? Is she too busy with school? I seriously don't get it.
And speaking of not making sense...the niece. Last time I checked, there's only 2 Davenport kids. Natalie and her brother. Well, her brother didn't get married (well, he did, but I'm guessing that marriage was immediately annulled :P) 4 years prior. So...this kid was way to old to be his daughter. The only explanation is, I suppose, if she is the brother's stepdaughter.
But, other than that, I did love how Monk was there to begin with! I also love how he played along with the niece about the "crazy" boss when he clearly must have understood. AND...I love how later on when the niece wanted 100 bucks, he knew her trick. That was a huge step for a usually gullible Monk.
Even if she HAS got school can't she by there for a day to do a scene? I mean they can get by in most eps without her, but not when theres a family reunion. Thats just stupid.
Yeah I couldnt figure where the kid came from either, I just figured that familys are complicated and strange, so I was going with your theory, she would be a step-kid or not actually her "neice" but whatever the child of your cousin is... that woman could be Nat's cousin and not an in-law... gosh i dunno, i mean could they not get any of Nat's family from previous episodes either?
Oh the, if you have change of a 100 you don't need 5bucks, i've seen some fans be mean to monk for his cheapness, but its funny. plus im sure the kid would have mentioned it to nat, and nat wouldve given her the money.
But it was nice to see Monk NOT be gullible for a change and get one up on the kid :D
I agree. There's just no excuse for her not being in an episode involving a family reunion. I mean, how hard could it have been to just add her in for that little bit in the beginning. She didn't have to be anywhere else in the episode.
It wouldn't have bothered me as much if they hadn't called her Nat's niece. I have a cousin that I used to think was my aunt because she's older than my mom, so maybe it's something like that...dunno either.
I didn't think this was him being cheap. I just think he didn't have a five on him (goodness, I wish I could just carry around 100 dollar bills!) and wasn't about to let this girl have 100 dollars for watching the dog.
I have some "cousins" that are children of my parents cousins, and then their children are younger than me and are sometimes called my cousins too... and theres no way any of them are, just related somehow.. familys are odd.
I was hoping he didn't have a 100 on him, and was tricking her. :D maybe thats me being mean.
But then he did go and give her lots of dogs later in the ep, I think that makes up for it.
Wow I wonder if they do that sort of product here.
And now you've explained it (thank you I was going to go google otherwise :D it makes sense, I'm hoping Monk picked up something like that for Shelby, as lots of ice cream still can't be good.
I'd love to see our dog all tranc-y. Is it like cats and catnip?
Our dog does go star-y eyed at almost any food that she can't have, she's easily put in a trance... just twirling my finger close to her nose puts her in a trance... its odd.
ooooh thankies, SO gonna have to try this one on Mia. I was worried about the lactase in milk, but yoghurt makes sense. And thankies for the link too.
LOL to number 2. going all out fo the mutt :D
Yep Monk picked up chocolate and the other available flavours too... really can't be good if he's taught her to hold it in, but the dog seemed to like him.
Maybe he and Natalie can get a dog sometime...together :)
And don't tell but it's the same with our dog, the sleeping thing, I have been known to sing to her (okay i sing all the time anyways) but try to sing her to sleep... and it works. (I'm a crazy person, hi!) *gg*
The finger thing works with toys too, a few circles with a toy infront of her face and she zones out, takes her a while to realize the toy is still and she can take it off me to play with.
I'm more cat person than dog but I did find it wonderful anyway, and I got teary eyed when the puppies came. I also think maybe that blond lady who said she'd take all the dogs looked like Trudy, and so maybe...

Does Monk really not know what to feed a dog? and why didnt Nat tell him not to give a dog 5 tubs of ice cream? LOL
