I made pizza with WHAT??

*dusts off ye olde ElJay* So, anyone remember that article on CNN where they *Lord only knows how) came up with five good things about Chicago pizza? (yeah, I'm a thin crust gal). Anyhow, while I found the main focus of the article distinctly unappetizing, some kind soul mentioned a pizza made with canned pumpkin that I had to try. Yes, I'm weird.

So, you need:

1 store-brand bagged raw whole wheat pizza dough
1 can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling, just plain pumpkin)
Ground nutmeg to taste
6oz Italian 4-cheese blend, or shredded cheese of choice
Fresh whole sage leaves to taste
Several handfuls of chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 425. Cover baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray. Use hands to stretch dough to cover as much of the baking sheet as possible, using cooking spray as needed. Cover with canned pumpkin in place of sauce and sprinkle very lightly with nutmeg. Top with cheese, sage and walnuts. Bake for 16 minutes, cut and serve.

OMGSOOOOOOOOOgood.
