Admin: Upcoming Events
Hey folks! I just wanted to let everyone know what activities we have planned for the remainder of 2012, and also explain a couple of changes to our usual challenges. Yep, we’re shaking things up and doing something a bit different this year. *g*
Here’s the schedule of upcoming events:
July: Angst vs Schmoop Challenge (presuming we have enough people sign up)
August: Movie Re-Watch
September/October: Back-To-School Challenge
November: Movie Re-Watch
November/December: Holiday Fest
Back-To-School Challenge:
Instead of our usual Halloween Challenge, this year I’m moving the challenge up a month and since September normally sees everyone back in school, that’s what our challenge will be about. You can write about Cody’s first day of kindergarten, or what it’s like to be in high school. Zach’s first day of college, or the empty nest syndrome when he has to let Cody go off to college. Maybe Shaun has to deal with being home alone once his boys start school, or he goes back to college and teaches a creative writing course. Anything goes, so long as it has something to do with someone going back-to-school.
Holiday Fest:
To change things up a little bit I’d like to make this a true gift giving experience this year. Instead of submitting a bunch of prompts that people then fill, I’d like to do this more along the lines of the gifting memes I’ve seen floating around come holiday time.
Everyone who wants to participate in the Holiday Fest will submit a comment detailing up to five “gifts” that they’d like to receive. Someone else will create one of those gifts. You may only request up to five gifts, but you may fill as many gift requests as you want.
Here’s a sample gift request:
Name: Shelterluvr
Gift #1: A Zach/Shaun fanvid to [my favorite song]
Gfit #2: A Zach/Shaun fic using the prompt: family
Gift #3: A Zach/Shaun & Cody header (using photos that I will provide)
Gift #4: A Gabe/Tori fic: they both miss Zach
Gift #5: A Cody/OMC fic: Cody didn't know what Zach and Shaun saw in other dudes until...
To make things fun and fair for everyone participating, if you submit a gift request, you must be willing to fill at least one gift request. No asking for gifts without giving in return.
