Hey everyone,
I am helping the gentleman below start out his Cafe'. This would be an excellent opportunity for all of you local artists to get their feet wet in the art scene, and I am going to see if he also, if he can get funding, would like to host dance events once in a while.
Sacramento has always been a place where the arts matter, and I would rather see a cafe dedicated to our creative endeavors go up than a shoe store. :D So please help out and vote! (See the message below).
Thanks!
~Heather
Hello, again. I'm not sure if you remember contacting me but I placed and ad on Craigslist a while back about opening and art gallery in Midtown Sacramento and I was looking for local artists. To refresh your memory my gallery will be called Local Creations. We will display and market a wide variety of artworks including, but not limited to, painting, sculpture, drawings, blown glass, jewelry, clothing, pottery, as long as it's local. We will also be offering free art lessons to children, having art supply drives for local schools, and donating some proceeds to local charities. We will also offer a wide variety of coffees, teas, baked good, sandwiches, and brick oven pizzas.
But to to the economy I have not yet been able to get funding. However, I have entered. The Pepsi Refresh Grant Project with is giving grants to ideas that will benefit the community. The ideas with the most votes will win the grants. If you want to help support the Sacramento arts I urge you to please vote everyday for LOCAL CREATIONS. This will allow us to open our doors and get your art displayed.
The voting starts Feb 28th at 9pm (midnight march 1st eastern time) and continues until the end of the month. Please vote and vote every day.
The link is www.refresheverything.com/sacramentolocalcreations and will be active starting Feb. 28th at 9pm.
If you have any questions feel free to email me back. templeofdoom1234@yahoo.com
