It's weird to think how fast we grow and change. When we were little things were perfect, people didn't die, goodbyes meant only till after nap time and a bandaid made the pain go away. Fun was coloring and wonderful was swinging as high as you could on the swingset. You watched Disney movies an endless amount of times and the ending was always the same-they all lived happily ever after. You wore heart and star shaped sunglasses and baby bikinis. You learned how to button buttons and tie your own shoes and even memorized your favorite books so you could read them to Mommy. And when you were 5 you couldn't wait to be 6 so that you could do all the amazing grown up things 6 years brought. In every picture you were doing something cute and you had daddy wrapped around your little finger. When you turned 8 you thought you were grown up and packed away your teddy bear and kid stuff, trying to leave behind your childhood but it always caught up with you. When you were 10 you finally packed away those barbies and when you were 11 you no longer needed that cootie shot. By the time you were 12 you dreamt of having a boyfriend and going to high school, being that popular girl. You no longer made friends so easily and change became confusing. And now at 15 you've become a butterfly and you've figured out how to deal. You've learned that all that matters is how you feel about yourself and no one else's opinion matters. You know now that dreams can come true if you want them to and miracles happen, it just depends on how you look at things. You treasure memories, pictures and stories. Your teddy bear has been replaced by a boyfriend and your favorite dolls with your best friends and you don't mind. Even though you aren't a baby anymore you'll still be that same pretty little girl at heart.
