New "Student"
Today we had a new "student", a guide-dog-in-training, in our calligraphy class. A black lab older puppy. Very well behaved. The temporary owner said they keep them for a year and attend weekly training sessions before passing them along for more specialized training.
Wolf and I have been considering this option for our next dog. Don't know if we'll make the plunge or decide it would be too hard to give the puppy up at the end of the year. If the dog fails its final training sessions and isn't quite up to being a guide dog, you can get the dog back.
We were talking about when we'd get a new dog just this morning. Wolf very emphatically said, "Within a year!" We'll see.
