sooooooooo no matter how many obnoxious replies my dad has sent through the wj listserve, this makes up for it. he called the director of admissions at duke, got them to extend the deadline until tomorrow (so the recs can get faxed), emailed dr. garran to write me a letter of reccommendation (to replace mr. baxter's), and emailed malone the fax ( Read more... )

if you didnt have any positive with your dad, he wouldnt have gone to all that trouble

sorry coburn, but you're wrong. even though she doesnt have a good relationship with her dad it doesnt mean he wouldnt do it. he's her dad for the love of god!

im not saying she has a great relationship, im just saying it has the possibility of getting better if he was willing to go to all that trouble

and what i'm saying is that no matter how the relationship is (good or bad) he is her FATHER so he shouldnt even think twice about doing something like that for his daughter. the fact that he was "willing to go to all that trouble" isn't relevant because like i said, he is her dad, no matter what kind of relationship, he would do anything for her.

You're deluding yourself if you think that all fathers do stuff for their kids...there are plenty of parents who kick their kids out of their homes, who run away and never come back because they don't care.

but notice that i worded it so that i didnt say just any father, i said HER father. im not an idiot, i was careful not to generalize because i know that there are plenty of parents that dont give a shit about their kids.
