I'm a little concerned that my writing is going so well this year. I'm definitely not complaining, but it's definitely making me a little nervous. I kind of feel like I need to just go with it and write as much as I possibly can right now ... you know, just in case.
Also? Apparently my FMC dies. I've never killed anyone before. But as I was lying in bed last night, the Epilogue came to me perfectly clearly and my MMC was standing holding an urn filled with the ashes of my FMC. I couldn't make it go away so I had to get up and write it down.
Progress so far:
11545 / 50000 words. 23% done!
Not bad for only 6 days in and today isn't over yet.
In other news, my dentist told me yesterday that my TMJ felt like there was ground glass in it, which definitely explains why my jaw and teeth hurt, not to mention the headaches I've been getting lately. He asked if I had introduced any new stresses in my life as what I was experiencing was symptomatic of clenching my jaw or grinding my teeth, which are indications of stress. Me stressed? Nah. [/sarcasm] Just every day since taking on these new responsibilities at work. He gave me a list of things to do and not do:
1. Take Advil or Motrin 600 3x daily
2. Eat soft foods (guess this rules out the chex mix I was going to make to munch on while writing)
3. Warm moist heat (Jacque, a friend at work, is going to help me make my own aromatherapy packs with flax seed and lavender that I can microwave.)
4. Don't open my mouth wide for large bites
5. Don't chew gum
6. Don't sleep with my hands under my pillow by my jaw.
If the above steps don't alleviate the pain and discomfort then I might need to go to a night guard or bite splint.
On the plus side, while I was at Jo-Ann Fabrics looking for cool prints with which to make my aromatherapy packs, I found this awesome flannel print with orcas and polar bears on it! I'm hoping I can persuade Jacque to also make me some pajama pants. :)
