The only people who will truly care about this note will be Christians who will try to use it as leverage in proselytization ('Nyaah nyaah told you so!'). Judaism isn't Messianic in nature (the Messiah is not even mentioned in the Torah) so most of us will look at each other, shrug, and go on with our lives. A name on a note means nothing, especially when the person that name is suggested to represent failed to fulfill any of the prophecies (except those attributed to him by early Christians long after Jesus had died). When the prophecies actually begin to be fulfilled, then we'll sit up and take notice. Until then, we're content to wait patiently and leave all the can't-wait-for-doomsday salvationism to the Christians.
The scribbling of one old rabbi doesn't signify anything and, just because he was a rabbi, doesn't mean everything he said or did was infallible; even old, revered rabbis make mistakes (or, possibly, have a wicked and cruel sense of humor). Either way, it certainly doesn't mean the Jews have declared anything.
