A co-worker asked me out and I had to turn him down. Gah! I know it was the right thing, but I still feel bad for the fellow. Hopefully things will stay cool at work.
Laura Lee is up this weekend and her, Jill and I enjoyed Stone Soup goodness after the Y. It always makes me feel like a content little girl in Grandma's kitchen. I'm completely transported to this safe, comforting place when I'm there with my friends.
Tomorrow I tackle the basement as Ann is already constructing a pottery wheel for Christina. Maybe I'll find some goodies in those abandoned boxes. The Nancy Drew in me is gonna have a field day :-) Michael on the first floor has the corner across as his painting studio, so we'll have quite the art nook down there.
Jill came over Tuesday to hand out candy for Halloween. It was the first year where I actually had more than 4 kids show up. 46 Peru was way too sketchy for parents to bring their kids. GMC dorms didn't really attract, and our house in Barnard got three if we were lucky. Having a front porch with shining joack-o-lanterns and candles helps, as does living in a nice neighborhood. My favorite was the little chicken :-)
Why do directors feel the need to change King Lear as drastically as they do? Tomorrow night I'm going to the COMEDY WESTERN version of King Lear, which strikes me as way bizarre. It may just beat the Chinese dynasty version where all the sex roles were reversed. It's a TRAGEDY for all those who don't know, full of back stabbing and kniving children who don't love their father and want their inheritance early. They plot his death. How do you make a bunch of middle schoolers prance around on a stage and make it a comedy? Suppose I'll find out soon.... Shakesphere must be ticked off.
Ooooooooooooooo I am ready for Stowe. :-) !!!!!!!!!!
