So............. :-)
Last weekeend I was in panic, Friday morning through a good chunk of Monday, wondering how I was going to find enough money for next months rent PLUS deposit since Jill is leaving. Also, despite the 43 applicants for the room (Yeah. 43 in one week!) I still hadn't found the right one.
I finally pulled out the bible, which sits on my desk far too much, and opened a page, closed my eyes and randomly pointed my finger to the thin paper, hoping for some advise or word of hope.
Here's what I got.
And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about our body, what you shall put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Oh how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?"
It really made me chill out. Every once and a while I just need to remind myself who is in control. I think this is my new favorite passage.
And so, the last interview brought the perfect roomate, a recent grad from St. Mikes who will be teaching 3rd grade up by UVM, who is really sweet, beautiful, will be on the same schedule as myself, and who I think I can really be great friends with. Plus, she knows lots of people in the area, so she won't be a recluse in her room all the time, and we can talk shop together. She was asking me questions about 3rd grade curriculum when she stopped by to drop of a check. I love her already.
And Jill was able to lend me a good chunk of the deposite money, and she'll still get a lot back from Roberts Properties (we hope).
So. Freak out time is over, but I still want to get my flute sold. I posted ads all over the city today, and called all the area middle and high schools yesterday. Last option is an annual youth intrument sale in September.
I'm also hoping to work for Howard center (I had a pretty decent interview Tuesday) and there is a 4 day course at the end of Sept. that offers a $200 stipend.
Ha! And the car. A lady from Mom's church said I could have her Chevy van for free if I had the brakes fixed, but I think Mom needs it much more than I. Her car sounds terrible and she really has to drive to get anywhere.
The whole family (minus Sue, surprise) went to the Fox's new place (old time friends building this awesome cabin next door) for dinner Sunday. It was really really yummy, and they are such great people. I also went to some Frisbee party Sat night that was ok. It was good to catch up with Lucas at least, but I kind of felt out of place otherwise.
Anyone wanna lend me their Harry Potter? Right now I'm reading this really hilarious book by Dave Barry called Big Trouble and have almost finished it in a day. Pick it up.
Hey. I'll get to posting some pics soon.
