Other Characters Played: RED Spy
Series: Homestuck
Character: Orphaner Dualscar
Timeline: After his death at the hands (clubs) of The Grand Highblood.
Personality: Dualscar is a moody sort of troll. He can switch from being proud to being overwhelmingly jealous in a matter of seconds. He would like to think that he is simply in-tune with what others are thinking, when really he’s paranoid and prone to making assumptions with little evidence behind them. He has a rather awful temper and can be extremely snide, because of how highly he sees himself. He has a tendancy to run his mouth, which often backlashes quite horribly for him. He tries very hard not to upset his higher ups but cares little for how he speaks to lower blooded trolls. He doesn’t understand jokes and he dislikes being joked around with. If he’s laughing, it’s usually a snort followed by a smirk.
Even though he is prone to mood swings, his moods often stay on the darker side of things. He has a tendancy to worry and to brood. In his mind, he distorts what actually happens into what he thinks happened and his reactions tend to be less calculated than he would like to imagine. Such as his run in with the Grand Highblood, it was foolish of him to think a schizophrenic clown would appreciate his attempts to use him. Though, it reflects a cowardly side to him. To think he would go to grovel at the feet of another Highblood rather than attempt to murder the Pirate himself. Whether this is because he loved her too much to kill her or because he did not think he could beat her is never elaborated upon. It is likely that he wanted her to be someone else’s problem.
He has a horrible habit of isolating himself from others and then feeling depressed about his loneliness. He wants the company of his superiors so that he too can feel superior and in turn he pushes away the company of low bloods. His unrequited love for the Empress may not even be genuine love, it may be an attraction to power. Or perhaps he wants to see the sweet and gentle side to her that nobody else can see. Nobody but her Helmsman, that is. The jealousy he feels when he sees those two together is near unbearable for him, especially when it is rumoured that she does not even know his name. It never stopped him from trying though.
Now that we’ve explained his lacklustre personality, we can compliment him a little. His loyalty to The Empress is his driving force when it comes to battle. He is both physically and mentally strong, having survived a great deal of fights. He is certainly skilled at barking out orders and keeping control of his warriors. While he isn’t so perceptive about emotions, he can calculate his moves on a battlefield and as such is a great tactician. He plans things a great deal in advance and has a keen eye for detail. He is prone to fighting dirty, especially with low bloods. Highbloods have a reputation for killing and destroying without any real care or consideration, this could only aid him when it came to battle. He is a ruthless warrior, especially when it is in the name of his Empress.
Background: Dualscar’s story comes largely from the perspective of his kismesis (In non-troll terms, his lover and rival. His bad romancer.) known as Marquise Spinneret Mindfang. Her documentations are insightful, but her perspective is very much skewed in favour of herself. Regardless, she was a dedicated documenter and has given more information in regard to Dualscar than any other troll.
His full name, Orphaner Dualscar, is thought to be derived from his task of murdering lusi (most likely in the name of the Empress). Dualscar comes from the skin scars that decorate his face, probably war wounds, though we do not know who is responsible for that. He is a highblooded troll and as such has little respect for anyone below his blood caste and shows it in his words and actions. However, when it comes to those higher above him, he tends to become more submissive and polite.
While it’s never canon, the general idea seems to be that he is a commander or captain of sorts in the imperial army, given his passionate devotion to his empress and his scorn for Mindfang, a rebellious pirate. He is most certainly a powerful and formidable troll, wielder of a fearsome weapon known as The Ahab’s Crosshairs (which was indirectly passed down to his descendant, Eridan) and distinguished by an unholy bitterness and unrivalled jealousy.
After the disbanding of those faithful to the Signless (Sort of the troll Jesus), He acquired Dolorosa (sort of the troll Mary), most likely with the intention of making her a slave. She is stolen from his grasp by Mindfang, which causes him much emotional distress. In troll society, it is acceptable for one to have two ‘romantic’ interests. However, this does not seem to click with old Dualscar. In Mindfang’s own journals she describes his jealousy in detail, along with her intimate moments with Dolorosa. She flaunted her in front of his face and he was quick to snap, eventually killing the innocent servant and heading to the Grand but mostly insane Highblood, fully intending on selling out his former lover in the hopes of receiving praise. While it’s not fully confirmed, it is assumed that the Highblood was quick to slaughter Dualscar for his sad attempt at revenge and ass-kissery.
Abilities/Additional Notes: Military experience, as listed above. He’s probably got some leadership skills, though he probably had to fight to remain in power and to keep respect.
He’s skilled with his weapon, but as a troll he is equipped with fangs and claws which he is not afraid to use. Trolls tend to be tougher skinned than humans and he is physically fit to boot.
He is a sea dwelling troll and unlike his descendant, he has a stronger connection to water and the ocean and it serves as a second home to him. He is a strong swimmer and possess fins and gills so that he can breathe under water.
Weakness wise, his emotions can get the better of him at times and his temper is somewhat of a handicap.

[He hasn’t noticed himself being filmed yet. He has his head in his hands and he is hunched over a table. He is muttering and seething in a soft voice, but it’s gradually becoming louder as he becomes more frustrated.]
He. Fuckin’. KILLED ME. That…that fuckin’ pathetic excuse for a GRAND Highblood.
[He looks around, as though he might be here.]

Sample RP:
This environment seemed to bring out everything that was wrong with the arrogant, high-blooded troll. He hated the people here, he hated the buildings here and most of all, he hated himself here. His entire life, everything he grew up knowing as the undeniable truth had been flipped over and shaken upside down.
He wasn’t entirely sure, but it seemed like blood was not a one-way ticket to power here. Red blooded, pink, squishy humans seemed to be the most calm and in control and here he was with no fucking idea what to do.
The society was beyond him, the technology was beyond him. What was a troll to do? The past few days had seen him suffering in crushing loneliness despite turning away the help of some questionably furry people. Was this a divine punishment?
