I GOT THE JOB!!
OMG I can't believe it. I'm soooo excited yet freaked out at the same time. I start November 21st. Which is more then enough time to get all my work done at RIT...well actually is right at the end of my usual quarterly work cycle. I'm going to be doing internet help desk work, all over the phone with people all over the country trying to figure out why their DSL isn't working or how to set up their email account etc. Not sure how excited I am about that but it's a means to an end. I'll finally have a steady paycheck I can finally do a budget with, start saving (They have matching 401k plan), pay down and then off my debt that has only grown bigger in recent months. I'll have amazing medical coverage and I haven't had anything for the past 4.5 years. Who needs her wisdom teeth out, new glasses and possibly a weird looking mole removed? Me. And I'll finally be able to take care of it all. PLUS!! They have tuition reimbursement...finally I can't use the excuse of how am I going to afford to live while going back to school. I can take 1-2 classes at a time while I'm working and for FREE :) The only down side is the time schedule. My days would be split and I'll have no life monday thru friday. Basically I'll work 4 hours, then have 5 hours off and then another 4 hours of work. So my day may start at 9am but I wouldn't get done til 10pm. That'll be fine if I want to go back to school but I'd kinda like to have my work day in 9 hours, not 13. Though the interviewer said that usually split shift people are given the choice of switching to all at once within 7-12 months after they start so it wouldnt be forever. Now I just need to tell my current employer...
