ABC has once again won my viewership. I always think I'm too geeky for the Disney channel, but then they go and get Steve Wozniak as a contestent on DWTS along with Belinda Carlisle (I loved the Go-Go's). Wow, Steve cannot dance. Picture a robotic gnome and a gorgeous woman dancing around him as he steps and postures, sort of in time with the music, but only sort of.
But you gotta' love him anyway because he's faithful and true to the DWTS attitude, the "I'm having the time of my life" sentiment that he expresses with open joy. And hey, you gotta' believe his sincerity. I mean, he may be the co-founder of Apple, but I doubt he's had that many nights of being surrounded by beautiful women in scanty outfits even if he did attend conventions. So, go Steve. If anyone deserves houri visitation, you do.
Nathan Fillion's new show followed and it was very enjoyable. They let him be his most charming self and surrounded him with strong female actors. His co-star was a Bond girl (the latest Bond which I haven't seen yet) and a Librarian girl. I liked her a lot on TnT's the Librarian, Curse of the Judas Cup (starring a geeky Noah Wyle) and she gives Nathan as good as she gets. Very old-school banter. Maybe not as witty as say, Moonlighting, but not nearly as precious either. And I was never a Sibyl fan.
Especially fun was Nathan's poker night with all the other top crime writers playing themselves - Stephen Cannel (sp?) representing TV land, and the creator of the Alex Cross character (Patterson?), and two others I can't remember exactly who, discussing the story's crime as a bestselling novel, how they would develop it further. Hope they do that again.
