Not a good night last night.....

Wow last night SUCKED!!!! Was on a broadband call for way too long - trying to get some help from the XP queue and the XP tech chewed me out royally! What an asshole!!! All I needed him to do is release and renew an ip address for me - and he proceeded to tel me that I was a fucking idiot for not knowing how to do this. Hmmmmm - I'm sorry I thought I needed to be trained on the operating system to know that information - silly me. And then a 9x tech wrote my ST telling him that I should have solved the issue I sent to him. Wow - this sucks - I have specific instructions from my manager, ST and Microsoft that if we cannot solve the issue in 10 to 15 min we are to send it to the operating system - no if's and's or but's about it. This is NOT up for negotiation - period. So I finally get off this awful broadband call - cuz I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to troubleshooting XP. Then one of the 9x managers comes up to me and tells me that I have to help close the 9x queue - I tried to tell him that I was in no shape to take another call. He said he didn't care - get back on the phones and help clear the queue. So I got back on the phone and took another call - this guy was having a problem with his MS joystick. And as he's telling me what went wrong I'm thinking to myself - and I care why??? I don't even game - have NO FUCKING clue as to how to troubleshoot this. He says it's not detecting - so I thought okay I'll boot him into safe mode and get rid of the ghost devices in the Dev Man. No biggie - right? WRONG!!! I got rid of everything under sound video and game controllers and had him reboot - yeah we booted to the blue screen of death. Great - I've just made the situation worse not better, and to make matters worse this f'ing manager from 9x is telling me to hurry up with my call. Yeah well that was the straw that broke the camel's back - I started to cry and said I'll do my best. He then apparently started to feel guilty and asked what was wrong - so I told him - and he says well just troubleshoot it. I got mad then and said I have no clue as to how to troubleshoot a joystick - I'm not a flipping gamer I could care less if this guys joystick doesn't work - he should call the queue for the stupid thing. I wound up having to tell the guy he was going to need to call sidewinder for support - I'd done all I could do he would need to contact them in the morning. Oh well - successful flog!! And now I hear we have to close the 9x queue every night - great now I can plan on going home that late every night - woohoo lucky me. Looks like I really have to get on finding a new job - and soon!!

On a happier note - trick or treating with my son was fun but damn cold!! He had a good time seeing all of his friends from the neighborhood. And yes I was a good mom - he didn't get any until we got home and I inspected it all and threw out the "funny" looking candy that was only partially wrapped.
