Okay, I won't lie, I've been waiting with bated breath for your breakdown. My week of watching doesn't feel complete without it!!! Seriously, I've been checking the comm every day!

BUT MOST IMPORTANT ARE THESE TWO NOTES!:

Based on most accounts I've read, this was a well-received episode, and for that reason, I am quite in the minority. Other than the two Sheldon/Penny scenes and the final Raj scene, I didn't enjoy it much at all.

&

once again we see these supposedly tight friends not very tight at all. It's getting old. I get the ribbing and the jokes; it's a sitcom, but the show is decimating any belief that these four individuals are actually friends, and that is from where The Big Bang Theory's sweet joy is derived. It's not fun to watch. Period.

THANK YOU! AMEN!

I was not a fan of this episode. Oh sure, I loved the hug, but the episode itself was a real downer for me. In fact, I ranted all over artic_fox's lj because I am just not a big fan of this season period.

I'm not going to do anything crazy like stop watching or throw my hands up and give up on it, but overall this season has just been so blah to me. And it's not even the L/P (though I can't stand that), it's lots of little things.

The main one being my questioning all the friendships. I just don't understand why these people hang out with one another - a lot of the time they don't seem to like each other. It's actually been reminding me of Lorre and Prady's other show, 'Two and a Half Men', which I do find to be painfully unfunny (sorry to those who like that show, I'm just not into it - every time I watch it it's either Charlie Sheen or Jon Cryer in bed with some nameless/faceless woman talking about sex - but hey, that's just all I see, so if you like it, please don't take offense that I do not!)

But back on point - this episode just didn't click for me. I'm hoping we'll start seeing some episode this season that validate the friendships. OOOOOooo - or - just a thought - maybe at the season end, Leonard and Penny will break up AND Leonard and Sheldon will break up (if you know what I mean). Who knows? Maybe it'll end that way and next season Leonard will have to win one or both of them back...

This 100%
It's like they barely tolerate each other half the time. (specifically Howard and Leonard of Sheldon) Which I realize is a vehicle so they can pull off certain situations and one-liner's. That doesn't work for me though. What happened to those boys who were immediately willing to pitch in $200 a piece for the original time machine to help Leonard out? The ones who played Halo and secret agent laser obstacle chess? I'd like them back please.

Sorry for the rant in your post.

ITA about Two and a Half Men. Ugh. My husband likes it, but I do not.

I'm glad you enjoy the breakdowns so much. Yay!

Yeah, I love this show, but I'm getting REALLY tired of the awful lack of friendship. I really, really hope it's leading somewhere. I really, really do.

Yup, AND, Howard and Raj. Because Howard has been a big-ass douche to Raj as well, and that just sucks.

ETA: Re: Two and a Half Men. I agree, and, yeah, I blame Chuck Lorre, I really do. He's been paying more attention to TBBT this year. He's written on four teleplays already and there are eight episodes left to go. He only wrote on two each seasons one and two. My issues with it seem to echo what a lot of people dislike about his other show, so yeah. I'm blaming Lorre. Chuck, I love ya for creating the show, but please to leave the concentrating more on T&aHM and spend as much time on TBBT as you did seasons one and two. Pretty please.

I'm catching up on the breakdowns, so pardon for being late, but...

WORD WORD WORD WORD WORD. I cannot agree with you more. For me, it's kind of like this. When I first watched the first few eps of TBBT, I didn't like it because I felt that the jokes were made at the expense of the geeks, that I'm supposed to be laughing AT the guys. I tried again a year later, and found myself loving it, because they've managed to take that mean streak away so now I'm laughing with the guys, which is great (well, other than Kripke, which I still hate the writers for writing him that way). And through this season I feel like the mean streak is back in a way - but now, not only am I supposed to be not laughing with but laughing at some of the guys, but Leonard and Howard is also laughing at them.

Lorre! *shakes fist* If he's really the reason why this season has been so strange, I'm praying that he'd spend more time on his other show. Prady and the other writers can handle this one.
