The Jim Parsons Webchat Transcription

Dec 07, 2009 20:08

I don’t know what this says about my sanity, but here goes…

So I'm one of the many fans who bemoaned the circumstances which led us to miss Jim's webcam chat. The interview, as far as the audio goes, was fun and there were a lot of noteworthy references to Sheldon/Penny. So for those who missed or simply want to reminisce, here's a transcription of the webchat (took me nearly half-a day to finish, my fingers hurt like hell, but at least I now have Jim Parson’s voice playing over and over in my head so WEEEE!). Credits to einna83 for uploading the audio for the chat in youtube, and the following Paradoxers for reviewing this transcription since they were able to participate in the chat and helped me fill in the gaps: hakkai_duo, takineko, arabian, artic_fox and red_sauvignon .

Note: Some sections will be marked as unclear, as in the audio. This transcription is typed as faithfully as possible (even down to the stammers and moments of silence) and as mentioned before, other unclear moments in the audio are filled in by the Paradoxers who managed to catch up with the chat.

Hope you enjoy this. I don't know if I'm ever gonna be nuts enough again to do something...well, as hakkai_duo put it in twitter, Herculean (I say it was just plain nuts :P ), but this interview was just too full of Shenelope, it HAD to be put into writing! ^_^

All references to Penny and or Kaley will be in bold.

If anyone wants to put this in their website, all I ask is a little heads up through a private message and maybe a link back ;)

Also, I must give another special thank you to hakkai_duo . I was actually about to give up on this project, having only finished a quarter of part 1, but after she and I tweeted, and I told her about this project, she encouraged me to finish it and offered assistance (plus, we got hyped about our common love for anime LOL!) and so this transcript is especially dedicated to hakkai_duo , and to all Shenelopians out there, not just the ones in Paradox.

To the MODs, if this needs to be member locked, please tell me. I actually don't think so...the interview/chat is public info hehe. Also, I'm not sure about the tags I used. Feel free to correct me with that too :D

Say it with me: We love you Jim! And your secretly Shenelopian heart!

  • Huh! No, I'm not…but I'm on.
  • So everybody can hear me now right?
  • *unclear*
  • Okay. Okay. Okay beautiful, thank you.
  • Hello Chile!
  • Hello Argentina!
  • I can see.
  • I can see everyone now.
  • Hello Spain!
  • Hello Canada!
  • Hello Ireland!
  • Hello Germany!
  • Hello France!
  • Hello Brazil!
  • This is insane.
  • Hello New Zealand!
  • Hello Norway and Mexico, Florida, Amsterdam. I--there's no question.
  • Hello Texas!
  • Somebody feels bad for me.
  • The speed is ridiculous, I agree with you.
  • Slow down please, I heard...Huh! It got slower.
  • Hello New York!
  • Hello More...More Park!
  • Hello from Houston!
  • San Diego! That's where I where I went to school, I can read this.
  • Hi to Trinidad!
  • Hello to Brazil. Love you too!
  • Are my eyes hurting? Actually a little, they really are.
  • Uhm, thank you.
  • How am I tonight? I'm good, I'm very--we just finished a run through of the show. Uhm...
  • Oh, here's a question. Tell us about your first Emmy experience...only. Uhm...It was wonderful. It really wa--it was very fun. I was very stressed leading up to it, I was very nervous, but once I got there, it was such a wonderful uhm...thing to be a part of. You know. I...I try not to place too much importance on that...you know, in general but it's undeniably a happy thing and...and it was fun to feel like sort of being part of the acting fraternity. You know, if that makes any sense, surrounded by peers, or what--I don't know. It was really nice. But I was nervous throughout it.
  • Uh...as soon as I can, my family's there.
  • What was Sheldon thinking during the Soft Kitty round? Interesting. Uhm, I didn't know how to play that until we got in front of the audience and, and, I felt like...Sheldon was ho*unclear*id (horrified?) by the idea because it was so new and different, and you don't do that to that song until he started doing it with Penny, and he realized that it was kind of enjoyable to, to do that.
  • *unclear*
  • One that he's worn maybe once, maybe twice, but it's like, it's, it's...blue, with the character from Tron on it, and his little car's been broken in to and he's going...and uh...I find that really charming, the way he's...uhm...animated.
  • *unclear*
  • Sheldon breaks down...Oh! Uh...that was all in the writing, I...it really was. Uhm, I just had to do it. I felt like...you know, he was...Sheldon was really...upset about all that fighting and I thought that was really funny, that peek into his parent's fighting, his father drinking...oddly, my mother, in real life gets asked 'Did his dad really drink?' or things like that. And 'Did you sing Soft Kitty to him?' I think sh--my mother needs some new friends *chuckles* no offense. *laughs*
  • Uhm...I'm not singing Soft Kitty? You gonna pay me? I'm just kidding. *laughs* Really, I'm not gonna sing, so...*laughs*
  • Oh, God...my poor mom indeed.
  • What? Oh, sorry.
  • How many takes did it take to throw the chocolate into Kaley's mouth? One. And I'm not kidding. And we prepared to be there for hours. And...it was...it was...we did two takes and it went in both times, and it never went in during rehearsal, and it did not go in *unclear* when we did it live too. Of course it didn't go in. But we set to tape that thing, two takes, both times it went in.
  • Uh......yes, I was in Pi Kappa Alpha
  • We gathered. I didn't go home, so it was more of a....uhm...eh...kind of an impromptu Thanksgiving. It was really fun.
  • Think dresses bed*unclear*ford.
  • Uhm…I'm more comfortable in Sheldon's clothes that I think Simon is in Wolowtiz's. I shouldn't speak for him, but those pants are ridiculous. Emphasis on the *unclear* uhm *unclear*
  • You know, it's uhm, yeah. I mean anything that's...well written and *unclear*
  • I have a beautiful singing voice *laughs* Thank you.
  • Well, do I like *unclear* I do, I don't get to do it as often as I want to. I don't take the time to do it as often as I want to. I feel actually that I should 'coz it's better for me.
  • What's my favorite play? My favorite play I was ever in was Samuel Beckett's “End Game”. Uhm...I...the moment I read it, I, I just loved it and wanted to...I don't know, I felt a connection with it that I still don't fully understand.
  • My favorite actor, I've thought about this recently because I always say Meryl Streep which...is probably...well, A. an easy answer and B...I don't know, is that *unclear* funny coming out of my mouth. But that's not what I wanted to change it, it's just my pet answer, and...somebody I thought of recently was uh, James Franco, and I really...not only do I like him as an actor and watching him, I was thinking recently about how little I know about him. And I really...I kind--in a good way. Like, like, like I don't feel like I don't know who he is but if I really thought about--I could research probably and find out more about him but it's not in my face all the time and I really...have a respect for that. And I'm so...intrigued that he did the General Hospital thing. I, I just...I don't know exactly why, I could probably find that out too. But I...I'm almost better not knowing. That's really interesting.
  • Oh, shoot! *unclear*
  • Have you created any back-story for Sheldon that we haven't seen yet. Uhm...er, no, no. I really don't know until they write it for the most part. Any more than I feel like I need to, to cut in to the scene. But normally the writing is...always, the writing is so solid, that I don't...really go making up anything and they haven't told me anything that I...that, that we haven't done yet. We find out things so last minute on this show as far as like, the day we do the table read, they start, uhm...w-we get the scripts and then you've seen it *unclear*
  • Did you find it fun to get in Sheldon's character or do some days seem more tedious than others? It's always fun...it...the first couple of days, working through the new scripts, are always tedious in some way, even when it's fun. E...especially some of the longer winded uhm, passages. They...you just...because you can read them, and you can sit at the table read and read them, and you know what it is and you know how it should work or you think you do. I do. Uhm, and then it's just sometimes, you just get so tongue-tied and you just don't know it yet enough to really spit it out at the, at the run through and make it right. Just spit all over my computer.
  • Betty White for Meemaw. That is not first time I've heard that, and I would *chuckles* give anything to work on something with Betty White.
  • Would you like to see Penny and Sheldon together? Uhm...uh, well, I assume you mean romantically. I would say to those who want it, keep dreaming. And I don't believe it's gonna happen. But who knows? Who knows? Life is long. Some series are too. Uhm...I, I looove Penny and Sheldon together, in...scenes. They--eh, is...it has been...such a wo...unexpected highlight from when we first started doing this show. I just...of course Penny and Sheldon are going to interact at some point but I, I couldn't have known how fun it was gonna be and I, I give a lot of that credit to both the writers and to Kaley. I mean, what a good time.
  • Is it difficult...oh, okay.
  • Uh--what's your favorite episode of the show so far? That's really hard. Uhm, is it vain to say that I like all of them? ‘Coz I do like all of them. I do like some better than others. I...I'm gonna say right now that...I really enjoyed that Christmas episode last year. That was very fun to play and I thought that was so...inventive of them. That whole...Spock napkin thing. I just...I don't know how they think of somebody's things. But, then...I also really love last year, Sheldon got locked out of the apartment while the guys went to Las Vegas and he had to...spend time at Penny's. And, we're going back to Penny and Sheldon stuff, but that was, that was probably the most time we'd ever spent together in an episode as characters, and it was in such a living environment, you know, trying to share dinner together, and how do you talk together, and...that was so fun to play.
  • Steve Molaro. I saw his name, how funny.
  • Will Nimoy be on the show? I don't know. I really don't know. I...I...I...okay.
  • I just...do I have any advice in a senior wanting to go into film. I assume you mean a senior in either college or high school. Uhm, I don't know. That's really hard. I-It's so personal...the road here, I've always felt. You know like...I went to grad school and then I got out of grad school, and I did a showcase with my class which is where you invite agents and they come and watch, and then uhm...and then I got an agent from that. But I mean, that's so specific, you know. I was...so what would my advice be? Take two and a half years to go to school, and--no, I mean, you know. I don't know. Keep doing it.
  • How did you feel in in the audience during the Emmys? I was nervous but I was happy.
  • I'm a great man. Wow.
  • Uhm, have I been asked to host Saturday Night Live? No. Uhm, and I would be thrilled to do it, and I would be scared to death. Can you imagine. Oh, yayaay...
  • Am I going to watch Idol again this year? Yes.
  • *unclear*
  • When I get the chance to, I really enjoy watching Friday Night Lights. Uhm...
  • Do you watch two and a half men? Sometimes.
  • Are the elevators ever going to work? No, there is much exposition. We have to get it out somewhere.
  • Goodbye to somebody. Oh.
  • What other show would I like to guest star on? I've said Friday Night Lights before, I don't know exactly where I'd fit in. What other show would I like to guest star on? I don't know.
  • What is your favorite book? I don't have a favorite of all time. The last book I've read, which is now out in a movie, which I haven't gone to seeing…yet, because I don't know if I wanna be…depressed but it was “The Road” by uh, Cormick McCarthy. Uhm, and uh…it's not happy. But I didn't care. I...I sobbed like a baby after it was over.
  • My favorite drink. I don't have one anymore. I used to. Margaritas.
  • What recent music have you listened to? This is why I think iTunes is the greatest thing in the world. I was, this weekend, reading, in the New York Times, they did a review of this Ella Fitzgerald uhm, concert that she’d done back in the 60s. There was like 70 songs on it and it just sounded fantastic and I immediately went and I bought it and I've been listening to that and it's incredible because I've never really listened to her talk before, and uhm, she's mostly singing but she does talk between her songs and stuff. It's amazing.

  • Did you read Craig Ferguson's book? I didn't read Craig's book yet, which is shameful if I think about that, you're right. I should have *unclear*
  • Two days, and...I wasn't good at it and...I don't know. I was not comfortable with it. It was weird, like, like, I'm talking a lot right now and stuff, but I just felt like the only thing I was really ever putting on there was that uhm, what I like to eat, or what I was going to eat, or what I was eating.
  • Ask Kunal something *unclear*
  • I have seen JimParsons.net. I've been led to it. It's a beautiful thing.
  • *unclear* Don't think about that.
  • How were you chosen for your character or were you asked to play a different one? I, uh, I auditioned. My, my agents got me the audition for this character. I wasn't going in for anything different and it was uh, very...run of the mill actually. Very typical story.
  • Have I been on Paradox? What is that?
  • Jimmy P? Is that a nickname? Someone just wrote. Yes, I...it's really weird. I did a movie...a few years ago, uhm, independent, and I didn't really have a character name, and they decided to call me that. But what was funny was I used to work as a temp at this uhm, online magazine that Microsoft hosted. And uh...uh, this writer there, Edith, used to call me little Jimmy P. And it was all very fitting because I was...I wasn't very helpful and I was much more of a, a, a mascot sort of situation, you know, like a pet that you'd have around the office and so it was kind of fitting that...maybe it was disrespectful, but I was okay with it.
  • Have I been to Starbucks? Yes. I, I must not have read that light--right.
  • Have I been to Australia? No.
  • Do I have any pets? I have two dogs. Otis and Rufus.
  • *reading a spammer who was posting things like “Who are you" and such* Oh, I don't know. Somebody must be confused as to why you all wanna talk to me.
  • Did you ever have a Southern accent? Still do, but you're sweet to say I don't. *unclear*
  • *unclear* Alec Baldwin, at the Emmys, really...he's, he's quite a force. He's quite a presence, I guess is the right word.
  • When was the last time the cast got together outside of work? Oh we got together for Kaley's birthday. Which was a few days ago.
  • How much of Sheldon’s traits do you have and how much it is in the writing? Uh! *unclear* I *unclear* feel...I feel like I'm being, in a good way dictated to by the script. I mean that's what I...want, to just do what they've written. That being said, it's...I'm doing it because I'm doing things and, and so...but it's in the, in the best way of that situation. I don't know who did what...you know. Most of the time, it's like, I don't know where that came from. The uh, the knocking on the door. I don't know...I don't know if that was written, or if we ran across that in rehearsal. *unclear*
  • When does the cast play pingpong? Oh, right now, because we, it's 3:53, we finished, we had finished a run through, and I came up here, and that's when a lot of pingpong happened, but it also happens on breaks. Sorry.
  • Is there a romance for Raj coming up? Oh! Uh...a date? Yeah. There is.
  • How does Sheldon stay slim *chuckles*, oh, it's, what's it say, eating something? *chuckles* That's funny. *chuckles*
  • Have you ever heard your face *unclear*
  • *unclear* must be weird liste--oh, no I haven't. That, that would be weird. I have not heard any dubs at all, actually. *unclear*
  • *unclear* I think I kind of know *unclear*
  • It says please do Colon Capital D. Oh God, it's hard to do. Oh! I just cracked my neck!
  • Uhm, I do not speak...Span...uh...un pequeño, un poquito, uhm, pero...uh...because I took...so much of it, because it took me so long to pass *unclear*
  • How does Sheldon stay slim easting all those cheeseburgers? Oh. *laughs* He has a really good metabolism. He probably has some sort of weird work out routine that we haven't talked about yet. I don't know that. Nor, nor am I suggesting it.
  • I don't speak Portuguese.
  • Uhm, crossover between Big Bang and any other show...I *unclear* befitting, right? I guess...? Bones? Yes. Numbers? *unclear* CSI, House...Oh God. A Sheldon and House scene would be fun. Steve Molaro *unclear*
  • *unclear* Thank you *unclear*
  • *unclear* There's nothing *unclear*
  • My favorite sport? When I was younger, I enjoyed tennis. I didn't...play, like I wasn't...you know, but I enjo--I tried, and, and I thought it was fun but I'm not good at it. *unclear*
  • Dave Goetsch is awesome...it's Dave Goetsch writing that. I enjoy almost any match. It's hard, uh...for me because, like, I think Rafael Nadal is so fun to watch. Federrer's been so fan*unclear* (fantastic?) and I...I'm always intrigued by somebody that's that...dominant *unclear* I think that's really amazing. Agassi's great. And I loved uh, Sampras when he was playing so much. *unclear*
  • How do you like Taping days? It's wonderful. It's the best thing in the world. I, eh, it's, it's the best day of the week. Uhm...I did...a lot of theater, like I said before, and so it's very...i-i-it's very much the marriage of you know, cameras and, and a live audience there, and, and...and I sort of said this about that singing in the rounds with Penny. It was very informed when they...w-w-when they were there. That really helped me understand what...the scene, how it was supposed to go. Uhm, it's a scary feeling, to rehearse for four days, and feel like you're not getting it, and just trust that it's gonna land. But you know, it really does, a lot of the time. A lot of it is...“A-ha! That's what was missing!” They're kind of like the fifth character...sixth character *chuckles*in our cast *chuckles* Who would I be leaving out subconsciously?
  • Have you ever sung for an audition? I recently did audition for something where I had to sing.
  • Have I met real Caltech students. Yes, I have and they were all very nice, and much smarter than me.
  • Are we ever gonna *unclear* I mean, I, I think we will.
  • I've been in musical theater. I did some children's musical theater long ago in Houston and I also did, with a group I worked with down there, we did, uhm, “Guys and Dolls”. I felt like I had to sing *unclear* all that kind of stuff.
  • Bazinga indeed!
  • Is there any geeky trait of Sheldon's that I have as well? Uhm...I feel I can be as literal as Sheldon sometimes. It's almost *unclear* I, I think I do. I don't know. I, I don't ca--I don't know. There's something very literal...the way Sheldon hears things and talks sometimes and I can fall into that and it's not because of the show. It's, it's happened all my life, at different times *unclear*
  • Have you ever watched Chuck? I did. I sat down, we got some pilots. This is year one. And uh, I was just thinking about this the other day, me and Johnny sat down and watched other pilots that were going on that year and some were good, some were fine. And, uh, there was two that we loved. We had so much fun watching “Chuck”, and we had so much fun watching uhm...Oh God, what's it called? Oh...the one, oh, it was on the season the CW and it lasted a year and it was so funny. I think what it's called...oh yeah, like you’ll be able to get it from that vague description. It was called “Aliens in America”. It was called “Aliens in America”. And both of those shows, we--killed us, we loved them. And then we found out they were both going to air at the same time our show was airing. We're like “Are you kidding me? Our two favorite pilots, we watched?” *unclear*
  • Any phobias? A little bit of the germ phobia. I do. Now H1N1's not helping anything. We have signs posted around here about to...do whatever to your hands *unclear* whatever.
  • Hi to you! *unclear*
  • Is there any technique you use to get into Sheldon’s character? No. The words, honestly what they've written, I, it really is.
  • What was going on in your head when a fan at Comic Con asked you for your DNA? *chuckles* Uhm...well, it was different for me, but, eh, I was actually gonna say, on that, I thought it was really...I thought it was funny, and I thought it was really sw...sweet that s...people knew the show well enough to come up with something like that and...and, and, and the other thing I was gonna add is that, that was an excellent example of the type of person that comes up to us at Comic Con, which...are smart, and, and so kind, and so...I don't know. I, I really think there was probably part of me that was a little scared to go to Comic Con the first time. And I didn't know what it was exactly, and I've never been there and B...I don't know. It just...I, I thought it might freak me out. And I guess it does freak me out but in a very good way. It's uhn, the nicest people.
  • Oh...oh. Do I think Sheldon is at all mean, or something it said. Okay, I'll see it in a minute. Do I ever think that the other characters' treatment of Sheldon is unwarranted? I guess mean treatment. No. No. Thank God, they, they do have to do that sometimes, uhm, if I understood that correctly, or either way, it brings me to a point. They...the, the other characters have to...oh, what do you call this exactly, but sort of in the--'coz otherwise, you'd wonder, “Why don't you move out?” or “Why are you friends with him?” You know? There's a--it allows there to be a banter. There's a, there's a rhythm they're all going with together that, yes, certain characters can be try--I mean, Wolowitz is the same way. They all are in different ways. Wolowitz, it just occurred to me, you know, it's uh, can be really like, “Are you kidding me?” But that's the fun. And I think that in real life, I think it's very true to life we, that...that's nice to have people around you that you can say “Are you kidding me?” *chuckles* about every once in a while. It's fun.
  • Oh! *unclear*
  • That’s not something I wanted to acknowledge but I have to *laughs* *unclear*
  • Would I like Leonard Nimoy to guest star? I would love Leonard Nimoy to guest star. I'd be nervous.
  • At the Nobel dinner, did I freak out, or was that easy? Uhm, that was really interesting. George Smoot uh, the Nobel laureate, who had been on our show, at this dinner where he was going to uhm, speak. And uh, and I was very nervous. Uh, they wrote me though, what I needed to say and I re-worked it so it would actually be coming out of my voice, but it was very similar to getting a script around here. It was like, I don't...I don't know what this means, I'm not even sure if I'm saying it right...
  • Who flubs their lines the most? Nobody does it a lot but Kunal laughs the most.
  • Would you like to do a flashback episode showing how all the boys met. I would love to do a flashback episode. I wonder if we could play them. I'm not getting any younger. Might have to hire somebody else.

  • Have you auditioned for any films? I have not auditioned for any films, really recently.
  • Favorite guest star *unclear* Oh, God. So many of them are so *unclear* I love the mothers so much. And...they're such different characters and those actresses are so different. Laurie Metcalf, Christine Baranski, and they are both equally fun. Uh, Lau....my mother is so different from Sheldon's. And, and then Christine...the mother is so similar to Sheldon and it's just, it's a very different joy, but I'm gonna go with those. Uhm, I really, really loved, uh...I feel like I'm excluding you, well, I'm gonna say I loved Sara Rue. I, I just think she's *unclear*
  • *unclear* to not do Sheldon's weird laugh. And I'm like, “You know what? Maybe Sheldon will just laugh this time.” And I'll do it at the rehearsal and Chuck Lorre will go, “No, we're thinking Sheldon's laugh.” *does Sheldon's laugh* *unclear* It almost hurts.
  • *unclear* myself, it will. *coughs* Excuse me.
  • Uhm... *unclear* it's certainly the longest I've ever played a character. You know. So...it probably *unclear* will take me years of therapy to get rid of but one day...alright.
  • *unclear* Uhm, fun in the show *unclear*
  • *unclear* guy. That's what I was gonna get at. H-He's a lovely actor, I think the scenes were so fun, that he is such a genuinely, uhm, good person. Not that I suspected any different, but I didn't know him, so there was no way to know.
  • Uh-oh!*unclear* I moved it. Okay.
  • Will Sheldon have *unclear* (a girlfriend?) I...assume...? You know? I mean, if nothing else, wouldn't Sheldon, at some point, decide it was time to, uhm, procreate? You know. Even if he wasn't going to enjoy it? Which...one would hope he...would. Penny. I cannot believe how many Pennys just came up when I said that. *unclear*
  • *unclear* Have...uh...what sites did you and the cast visit while in Rome? Very, uh, tourist-y. Vatican, in Rome, we went to, and uhm...the cata...com...the underground *unclear* places. Somebody writing this maybe? It doesn't matter. It was very tourist-y. It was very fun though. I mean we, uh, we did the tourist-y things. *unclear*
  • *unclear* I most like to be friends with? Well, *unclear* you know. I, I don't know that for sure, but I, I don't feel like I have any friends, no offense to my friends, that are as smart as the four guys. Or *unclear* socially as the guys are, and so Penny...Penny's so nice and...nice and normal but, you know what I'm saying. She's...she's, I think she'd be easy to get along with. *unclear*
  • *unclear* adlibbed? Zero. I'm not kidding, and nothing is ever adlibbed on here. I'm not kidding. And I don't mind. I'm just saying. It's very into every if, and or but has been written. I, I kinda thank God *unclear*
  • *unclear* I agree. *unclear*
  • *unclear* have allergies if that's what you meant. And that kinda murder me sometimes.
  • Does the audience ever distract me? Uh...they...could. I tend to...not...look out there that often. A little bit, every once in a while, but I really stick to my script between takes, and, uh, you know...I don't know. It, it's, it's hard. You want...you want everybody to have a good time, but I don't think it serves me at all to quote unquote care about what they're thinking. I mean, I'm going to anyway subconsciously, so the less I can think about it, the better. I don't *unclear*
  • *unclear* you asked, because I think a little bit, when we're rehearsing. But we shot it really close after that shower scene...and that was really...stressful, in a weird way. The water was running, things were wet, it was a tight space, and so, in a way, we weren't necessarily in the most jovial mood when we shot that boob scene. So...no.
  • Hardest line *unclear* and I've said that before, so, m-maybe somebody's heard me say it, but m-my theory on it is that...the science is difficult to memorize, but I don't know what I'm talking about, so I'm not gonna get in my own way, you know. Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock, I think, I feel like I knew enough about it, and I had to do those hand signals with it. And that was tough. *unclear*
  • *unclear* *chuckles* CBS really pushed the whole boob thing. Ha! Sex sells. *unclear*
  • *unclear* something. I...w-w-we...we have an equal amount of people that are, say...oh, I don't know. That'll be like, thirty or forty, and they'll say, “My son or daughter turned me on to it”, and you'll find somebody who's fifty or sixty and they'll say “My mother or father told me about it.” It's really amazing. *unclear*
  • *unclear* inspired me to be an actor. I...I can't honestly answer that. Uhm, I keep saying I was very fortunate to be thrown into a play when I was in first grade because I have wanted to do this for so long. Before...I mean, I don't even know who that kid was, you know, that was five years old, six years old and wanted to do this. I've no idea. I don't know why I did that.
  • Is there any science--oh, okay. Oh, uh, science--any scene that I had a hard time not laughing when you were filming it? *unclear* it's not, it's such a none, not a none moment but I can't imagine anybody's going to remember it. The very first time Christine Baranski's ever here, the very, I think that was the very first scene she was in with us. Leonard tries to make her tea and she goes through this whole rigmarole, trying to *unclear* whatever and she finally takes a sip, and she goes, “It's cold.” And, I don't know, it's like I said. It's so simple or whatever but oh! There was something about it, it was so dismissive, and such a build up for that disgust, oh! I think that's funny.
  • *unclear* Oh...hands? *unclear*
  • *unclear* Maybe they have asked, and I don't know about it, but I thought that...I think Lisa Kudrow should be related to Penny in some way. Uhm, I don't know if Lisa's old enough to be her mother. I mean, even if she is in real life, I don't know if she looks old enough to play her mother, but...Lisa Kudrow is amazing, and, and I mean and that's you know...she's...I shouldn't say a comic idol, because I...she's in a long list of people who I admire in a...comedy way but she's just...hysterical, I mean...Danica's coming *unclear*
  • *unclear* Jim-inizing himself. Oh...poor guy. I, I think *unclear* play, he gets...that I play gets Jim-inized in a way, you know. And ever character gets whoever-ized. Meryl Streep-erized, I'm sure. Although she's pretty...falls into her role pretty wholeheartedly.
  • Any more drunk Sheldon *unclear* think, huh? Even if in accident. *unclear*
  • *unclear* Tootsie. Uhm, A., I'm working on a TV set now so it reminds me of Tootsie, uh, and B., I think it's one of the funniest things. It's r...it's just my alley, I mean, not only does it deal with the world that I'm interested in, obviously, but the sincerity with which that comedy was executed, uhm, is...that's...I think that's the ideal. That's the goal.
  • I was not a wai*unclear*am an actor. I was a bank teller, I was a cashier at whole foods, in Houston, uhm...yeah, *unclear*
  • *unclear* I really feel *unclear*
  • *unclear* I was very good at customer service but I rarely balanced my drawer...the, the till, the money till. And it wasn't 'coz I was a thief, I just, I think I pressed the wrong buttons all the time. *unclear*
  • My favorite Star Wars movie? *unclear* Hey!
  • My favorite food? My favorite cuisine, is, uh, Mexican. Hands down. Uhm, and I mean all types. Like some people are like, if you grew up in Texas, you're very in to Texmex or whatev--no. I, I love Texmex, but I lived in New York, and there's like, it's supposed to be notoriously not be good in New York, I disagree, it was just dandy. Uh, I love the Caltex. Caltex *unclear*
  • *unclear* *singing in his own voice, not Sheldon's* kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur...
  • The notebook that I carry during tapings. Uh...it's this *unclear* It's a binder. And *unclear* that. And *unclear*
  • *unclear* The New York Times art section. And one of them is uh...Otis Donovan Herring of The Ronald Kay Brown Troop, uh, I, w, that's not why I cut it out. I don't, I'm sure they're lovely but I don't know them. But there i--they're both dancing. This one is so free, this man that's jumping. And then on the other side, is...uh, Darcy Chrysler, of the New York City Ba--i, it's, she's, it's so focused and it's so precise. And I really love the marriage of those two qualities, and I feel especially for this character. Maybe in general for everything but, you know, Sheldon's so tight. And so rigid. Uhm...but when he loses himself like, 'coz he can't find a seat, or he does something else, it just seems...the time to *unclear*
  • *unclear* singer or band? *chuckles* *unclear* I have a really high tolerance, for some reason for that Miley Cyrus song, *chuckles* something about partying in the USA, or whatever. I really don't like it. But I'm so tolerant of it. But no, I'm not listing Miley Cyrus as my singer. The Beatles are great.
  • Mac, Mac. I'm on a Mac. *unclear*
  • *unclear* child. I really think that I've gotten more and more scared about roller coasters the older I've gotten, which is weird to me. I just uhm like, eh...not so much.
  • I love Pink Floyd. I do. *unclear*
  • *unclear* remember. Huh! For the experiment. You're right.
  • Do I ever get *unclear* not the life of Brad Pitt over here, I have to tell you. Uhm, I always enjoy seeing people who like the show. No one's ever...you know, run me over.

  • What's in the *unclear* This? I don't know what it's called. Kunal bought it from me--for me, from India.
  • I did not read Twilight.
  • This is my dressing room, not my house.
  • Do I like *unclear*
  • *unclear* I've not heard Adam Lambert's CD.
  • Favorite ice cream is Vanilla. It really is.
  • Uh, dream *unclear* I don't have one. I wanna...I...really...just...you know...just keep working is m-m-my...really, my main goal, you know. If I were to write something, maybe, or, or, if I wanted to adapt something one day, none of which I'd want to do right now. Uhm, but that would seem more focused. I...it's hard for me to know, you know, that...the right thing seems to come along. I've been very...I've been very fortunate, uh, to have things pass in front of me, and then, and then, and then...trust my instinct, I don't know if that's the right word for it. Uhm...I would love to get to do...I would love to do...a movie over hiatus. Uhm...that's in summertime, it's not coming up *unclear*
  • *unclear* due up north, don't you? *unclear*
  • *unclear* cut back on all soft drinks though, *unclear* first *unclear*
  • *unclear* It says, “Hey man! Be the Riddler!” Uh, id, if I could just that easily do it, I promise you I would. Don't think it hasn't crossed my mind. I would love to. Oh, I can't read *unclear*
  • *unclear* on the sexiest *unclear* uhm, in fact asked my interviewer, when they called, if it was going to be in like a joke section or something. It seems so un...I should've been the top *unclear* you and my mother both say that. *unclear*
  • *unclear* and another great guy--we have some of the best people on this, not just actors, but just people.
  • Uhm...next week's episode. *unclear* last month *unclear* tonight. It's *unclear* Gorilla Experiment, yes. Uhm, yeah, w, I can tell you...basically what the synopsis would be, probably, but, but I...you know, Penny...it's, you know, it's about Leonard, as far as...she wants to know some stuff so she can converse with Leonard in a way. Scientifically. Which, *laughs*
  • I love “The Soup” with Joel McHale. Joel McHale is a funny man. *unclear*
  • *unclear* it's just such a...endless possibilities for topics. Uhm, and that's great, I think for a show to have that. And m-my favorite thing is the...the uhm...discipline with which to uh...get everything right, you know. That's why we hire...uhm...why we hire *unclear*
  • Never been to Amsterdam.
  • Oh dear. I've had *unclear*
  • *unclear* enjoy wearing for a while. Oh! *unclear* university. Oh. And uh, when I *unclear* (visited?) there this summer, they gave me one for free. And it's kind of too big for me, which is for some reason very comfortable for me though when I'm rehearsing every once in a while.
  • Dark blue hoodie, it's not black.
  • Salmon hoodie? Oh, oh, oh, oh! I've *unclear*
  • *unclear* I don't know what it is, but it's from India. So it's very *chuckles* uhm, I feel very cultured having it in here. *unclear*
  • *unclear* bring it today. *laughs* Oh, that's really funny. I thought it was red. I may be color blind. It's not red. Okay, okay, okay. Pink? Oh, gosh.
  • Is it hard *unclear* No, and here's why, because it was all pieced together in, in the, in the editing room. We just had to...I mean, you know. It was fun, in it's own way, but it was really just...getting us in different poses and stuff. It was w...the fun had there was much more after the fact with the footage they got of us.
  • *unclear* Would I be *unclear* I mean, I don't think *unclear* I would hope. I hope to keep working, so that's good.
  • Now the he (helium?) *unclear* later on. They...I just did the scene...as normal. *unclear*
  • *unclear* a lot of drama offset. Uhm...and I, I don't know if you've heard this, but I used to always hear “Save it for the stage” and I, I think that we do that very, very well.
  • Uh, sometimes, it is hard, to sit through a scene with Kripke, and the way that speech impediment uhm...just when you think you've gotten used to it and your ears are just not really hearing it anymore, something will hit you and it's like, “What is he doing?” And uh, and then it is, and it's hard not to laugh at that.
  • My favorite color? Oh, God. Uhm *unclear* (Red?) *unclear*
  • *unclear* haven't been asked in a long time. I do watch *unclear* I really get to see what...what happened, and, and how it came out, and...and *unclear* you know, not to learn from it, but just you know, I should see what we did. What I did, and *unclear* enjoy watching myself. It, like I say, it doesn't freak me out. I'm still more freaked out like hearing my voice on a tape recorded than I am seeing the show, which is odd.
  • *unclear* don't have any. I'm allowed to say that.
  • The Kling*unclear* (Klingon?) hard, 'coz once again, I didn't know what I was talking about enough to get in my own way. It was more like singing a song. It was just hard to make sure that I was doing it right. It's very weird. I mean, in a good way.
  • Uh, do I have a Spo*unclear* (Spock?) *unclear*
  • *unclear* every time but I think most people do. Oh, Klingon boggle, that's right. Bilurrbe. *laughs* The Panty Pinata episode. I don't know what was going to be saved but that was fun.
  • No, I've never *unclear*
  • Do I ever find myself *unclear* scene. Yeah. I was gonna say *unclear* I don't, I don't feel like I'm down on myself as for doing things like negative but it does *unclear*
  • *unclear* some of them do, some of them are like, “That was so fun” but a lot of them, it's like, I could do one more take, but you know what? Let's just...I don't know.
  • Was it fun to rock *unclear* (rock climb?) Yeah. Yeah. I-I-It was...kind of odd. What was fun was when I had to pretend to pass out up there because...for some reason, I felt really comfortable that they had secured it. I guess they made me feel that way, which is good. That's...them doing their jobs but uhm, and to fall back, like that, and just have my dead weight sitting there, hanging that high up in the studio was really, really *chuckles* fun actually. I practiced my *unclear* thing. I was very, I was like, “You need to remain calm...” *unclear* must be 'coz I felt *unclear* and I do not, as I'm thinking that. I don't know, I don't think of it.
  • I think Sheldon will fall in love. I think Sheldon's in love with *unclear* (science?) And I think that...
  • ...do I have a second name? I-It's James Joseph. I guess that means my second name, right? Joseph?
  • And Penny *unclear* time on the set. When will she get a last name? Several of us have suggested Moonves *unclear*
  • *unclear* a lot too, actually. Yeah, Moonves *unclear*
  • *unclear* I feel like everything I own has a touch of the geek to it.
  • Your son's middle name is Joseph. *unclear*
  • *unclear* traits of Sheldon do I wish I have apart from being smart? For one thing I felt *unclear* hard to separate *unclear*
  • *unclear* hands down. I wanted to be that character. I was very young though. *unclear*
  • Maybe, if this show ever gets cancelled, I'll have to move back in with her. And uh, and then I'll play with them again. *unclear*
  • *unclear* CBS show. I don't know. I don't know exactly how those...come in to being. It seems so odd *unclear* I mean, I guess it could work. Charlie was on our show but it wasn't really a cross-promotion. It was more of a...he was just in a bar scene.
  • I love my mom *unclear*
  • *unclear* in to anime? No, I don't know it. I've never watched Futurama...
  • Yes, the stairs are the same and they just come in and r-reset, decorate each floor with new numbers and maybe a potted plant outside somebody's door. *unclear*
  • *unclear* very...well, I didn't feel nervous that she was here. I don't know why I would've been but I--it was the worst, that's the most I'd ever messed up, was in the first scene of that episode. Uh, and then I was fine. *unclear*
  • *unclear* Thank you. *unclear*
  • *unclear* despise doing karaoke, although I don't mind watching other people do it. *unclear*
  • *unclear* scenes where, where I'm at my computer, kind of like I am now, at the desk. Uhm, not only do I not have to remember where to go *chuckles* but uh...it's very fun to do that thing where you're kind--Sheldon's really...he's not...he doesn't seem to be paying attention and then he shoots off comments, I think that's funny.
  • Ha! No, I've never accidentally stolen anything from the set. *chuckles*
  • I do really play the piano. Uhm, I don't currently have one in my possession. Uh...I would like to invest in one. Everybody says you can play a keyboard, which is true, I could, but I don't...I-I don't need to practice playing music. I enjoy playing that specific instrument...the, the piano and so that would be a joy to do that.
  • I would love to *unclear*
  • *unclear* pingpong *unclear* had to play one match so far, but darn it, I'm right there with it.
  • I have a sister *unclear* (her name is Julie)
  • So *unclear* I need to go, but I feel...it's so awkward when I can't actually talk to somebody and say...no. Oh, you're saying, n--oh, you're saying goodbye *unclear*
  • *unclear* thank you for doing this. This was really fun. I really appreciate all of you...writing. I, I didn't really...completely understand it would be this format and I loved it. Uhm, thank you...very much. I wonder how *unclear*
