I hate to be a downer, but the fact that the whole episode is gonna revolve around L/P (even if they're fighting) just makes the ep seem boring to me. :P

I'm betting we're going to get the famous sitcom reset and they won't even bother to address the changes to L/P's dynamic. :/

I'm sorry, but this show does not have a massive sitcom reset button. The premiere episode with Sheldon's job, they did it, yes. Other than that? They haven't, they don't. Things carry over, most of the storylines continue. Relationships carry-over (we've seen a few of Penny's boyfriends over multiple episodes, Raj is clearly still spending more time with Sheldon, Howard is clearly spending more time with L/P, Leonard's crush on Penny, Leslie and Barry's recurring character-ness, Sheldon's Mee-maw). These are all things that have continued to carry over throughout the course of the show. Stephanie's relationship with Leonard did end badly in terms of the show really clearing it up. Overall though, TBBT does not have this reset button that everyone speaks up.

What happened with Stephanie? I must have missed an ep because last I remember Leonard broke up with her but she still wanted to have sex with him or some rubbish

That's what I meant, he broke up with her, but she lured him back w/ sex and that was the episode end. I think they thought we would all infer, he had sex with her one more time and that was it, but it felt like it was left hanging, unresolved. My point is that other than that and Sheldon's job (quitting, moving back to Texas) being so completely glossed over in the premiere episode, the show doesn't reset. Things continue moving along. Yeah, Howard didn't learn from that episode with Penny, but, who really changes that much from who they are from one incident? Yet, still he *is* becoming a less obnoxious, skeevy person in ways and that is due to his acquaintance with Penny ( ... )

Absolutely. A big problem for L/P is that they are neither emotionally engaging nor funny together.

We already know it's close to the last scene, but as I said in one of my spec posts, it's clear that they are ignoring their issues or just slapping band-aids on them because except for TADD episode, L/P have some sort of issue in every November episode. It's clearly carrying over and consistently happening.

But it doesn't revolve around them; again, it's not shown in the promo, but it's really all about how Sheldon reacts and deals because, of course, on their own Leonard and Penny can't have a story. Because they're too boring.

Well, I don't read spoilers, so I can only call it from what I see in the promo. Hopefully you're right.

That being said, I am NOT down on the show. It's been about the same standard as I had expected it to be, but L/P will and always has bored me. *shrugs*

It's not conjecture; someone was at the taping. And all of the episode synopsis' say that Sheldon deals with L/P fighting because it inconveniences him.
