I think I'm the only one who didn't think that about Howard and Bernadette. Sure they have the mother-issues, but they clearly don't connect on ANY other level, so they didn't appear to fit at all for me. Everyone else seems to love the continued idea of them, however.
I think it's the idea of Howard treating her like a normal person more than any actual chemistry between them. I'm with you, though. I didn't think they were any more interesting than watching Leonard and Penny. I think I even liked him better with Leslie, and then we got to still have Sara Gilbert around.
They -- thank GOD! -- were never shown as a pairing. Sure there were hints that TPTB were thinking of going there, but there was no hint of an ACTUAL pairing up on the show. And again, THANK GOD!

Very true, and I'd love to see that actually happen. It would be awesome, because a few slimy, wormy comments are fine, but overall, I LIKE that Howard better. Me too in regards to the "physical match" -- that's partly why I'm so anti-Leonard/Penny. They don't look right together, and it certainly doesn't help that she is actually a tad taller than him. Now Sheldon and Penny, on the other hand ...
Same here. I'm typically not super shallow on this kind of thing, but it's just glaringly obvious when a pairing does not look right. It gets kind of distracting to some degree. Good chemistry can overcome it, but L/P don't have that either.
Yup, they simply do not work romantically AT ALL on screen. Nothing about them -- their story, their chemistry (or lack thereof), their physical appearance next to one another -- works. Nada!
For once on his end it actually seemed like he was trying to be mature about the situation though from his end which showed, imo that he saw her more than just a lay.
I so loved that about those two. Even from the get-go, you could tell he was being a bit more mature about it. Although really, he's had more dysfunctional "relationships" than hook-ups, technically. So I guess maybe he is in it for the long haul, even though he seems to be attempting to draw from the Barney Stinson playbook. I wouldn't ask my good friend to have his girlfriend set me up with someone if I planned on ditching them ASAP, so I kind of adored Howard's attempts at dating instead of trying to get numbers (that aren't fake). :)
I'm curious how Sheldon showing off his toaster could get Wolowitz laid though. If she was into the toaster, why wouldn't she be trying to get a piece of Sheldon?
I don't believe those two are related, it's merely other Sweeps events. We know that Sheldon's BSG toaster is in 3.06, so the Howard bit is likely from another episode.
