Is it that bad? There was an article earlier today (yesterday?) where Kaley says she hopes Penny and Leonard get married; maybe the episode combined with the article sent people scrambling for alcohol. Or brain bleach.

Negative. it is more than likely lip service for the Lenny fans since their ship is canon at the moment. She was at one point singing the Shenny praises, so I'm sure the statement is about as creditable as a ball of lint.
