It was pointed out under the last episode thread, before this one was started that this isn't their first kiss. Sure he initiated it but it was initiated to be a smartass/to mock not out of his desire. I find it funny the Shamy fans think he'll know start being touchy feely and kissy kissy. Are they brand new to this show? We know damn well Sheldon will be back to acting as if "Gollum" has cooties again. It's cute how they get excited at the thought of Sheldon being completely destroyed and the show most likely jumping the shark. As long as Amy's goal of sex is realized, then screw everything else.
Exactly. You just know the writing screams 'lazy as f***' when one partner in a ship suddenly sprouts 'new' feelings for their so after being together for three frigging years. Now THAT is another thing that doesn't make any damn sense especially with Sheldon acting all rude and sarcastic with her just five seconds before landing one on her.
Not just the moment before but, many moments all throughout the last few seasons. The only touching real moment they've ever had imo, was when he reached over and took her hand to watch Howard's space launch because he wasn't forced, nagged, or pushed by Amy or his "friends" into doing it. Then he went back to Sheldon for a couple of seasons again without touching her, yet still making rude comments etc. The writers are horrible as we've discussed a million times in that they don't show a real relationship growth until they need to do their obligatory "Shamy" episode or VDay episode. How about showing growth that allows Sheldon to still be a good version of himself and not nagged into touching or nagged into romance. OR how about growth be something other than touching and romance? LOL
Although I personally was sad about it because not Shenny, I will grudingly admit that the D&D scene in The Love Spell Potential wasn't bad either, if I were to look at it entirely objectively. I think it is exactly what has been stated before, that Sheldon was not forced into the D&D roleplaying sex - Amy expressed her concerns, they talked, and then Amy was going to go back to the living room, but then Sheldon wanted to finish the love spell (because closure). Sheldon taking Amy's hand during the space launch was much more genuine then, say, Amy forcing Sheldon to hold hands with her when they were all at the movies. Even when he took Amy's hand, he looked over and checked Penny (and Leonard) out, wondering why he had to hold hands when the Lenny were not holding hands.
Yes but he kinda was forced into playing wasn't he? I can't remember all of it now because I skipped the episode and read all the comments here instead.
Jumping the shark is an idiom created by Jon Hein that was used to describe the moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality, which is usually a particular scene, episode, or aspect of a show Clearly it's subjective, right? And I was giving my opinion so

So far I think they are pretty much destroying Sheldon's character with a hammer but also so far here it's the only place where I see people thinking the same. What I mean to say is you are the only person (that I agree with) that would say something about jumping the shark.
I haven't been on this board in forever... Stopped watching the show completely after Season 5... I stopped laughing after the second episode of the fifth season and no show afterwards has made me laugh so by Season 6 I tuned out

Greetings Black Dove. We've created a rather bizarre website in honour of the early seasons, and a forum for all manner of Shenny fanciers and Nostalgic oddbods to natter and carp amongst ourselves. If you'd care to wander over and be a fellow disappointed idealist, I'm sure you'd be welcome. Here it is; http://www.shennyhq.com/ Regards, Major Gripe.
