It's utterly ridiculous. And it's the most offense thing I've ever seen; comparing TBBT to MTM show? MY GOODNESS. MTM show had some of the most smart, consistently funny characters ever written on a TV comedy. Ever!! The humor was way more sophisticated than TBBT.
Oh, and Leonard is not an after thought he's being compared to the main character Mary, and she's one of the most iconic TV characters of all time.
My head is spinning from this..lol
Maybe comparing TBBT to Three's Company is more appropriate, because the level of writing at this point on TBBT.

The only thing that was remotely good about the article is the author didn't gush over the romantic relationships on the show, and didn't seem to like Amy all that much, and relegated her to a small bit player who is only funny being a small bit player, but when she is written to have a big story on the show she isn't funny. In other words a little Amy goes a long way, and this is very true.

Also the writer of the bigger article linked to writes this:
(In Raj and Amy, “The Big Bang Theory” could very well have two bona fide bisexuals among its characters

Oy!

Oh Since Penny is Lou and Leonard is Mary does that mean they should just be friends and not date? Lou and Mary never had a romantic or sexual relationship. They were always father/daughter type thing and also very good friends. Lou (Penny) did go out with Rhoda (Sheldon) a few times though. :)))

Well Leonard did seem like an afterthought in that article, though I would go with yes- they should only be friends. The article did ignore the romantic relationships - except for H/B and I did like that aspect.

The only part that made sense was the Howard/Ted and Bernadette/Georgette comparisons. Those were spot on. And those were listed first, suggesting that that article was written to basically talk about those two while Sheldon, Leonard and Penny were afterthoughts.
