“No.” Sheldon started to back up as Penny's eyes caught sight of the vacancy sign. “No, no, no, no. Absolutely not.” He said, shaking his head rather rapidly as Penny started towards the doors.
“Penny!” He squawked out, leaping into action before she actually touched the door. His fingers gently wrapped around her wrist
“We are not staying here.” He tried to put as much authority into his voice as he possibly could, though winced when Penny turned to look at the hand that was holding her wrist, but he did not let go, nor did his gaze waver.
“Sheldon.” She started. “There is no where else in this rinky dink little town for us to stay unless you feel like accosting some random stranger.” She said, patting his hand gently before prying off the fingers that were gently gripping her wrist. “I know you're afraid of dying of some sort of germy virus thing-” She ignored his eye roll. “but there is literally no where else to go.”
Penny stared him down before he started a lecture on the word literally. “The car won't be fixed until morning, and I doubt you want to sleep in the back seat of the car since its much smaller than my couch and you threw a fit about that.” She paused when he opened his mouth. “And don't you dare start on my check engine light.” Her finger was in his face then, pointing at him “It had nothing to do with the engine, I checked!” He stumbled back a step in surprise and Penny nodded.
Sheldon opened and closed his mouth. “Penny.” He said in a scandalized tone. “From the looks of this place they haven't cleaned in months.” He looked triumphant as he figured out a reason for not staying. “There is also no room in our budget for this extra hotel room. The cost for two beds is ridiculous.” He smiled then, glad he won the argument.
Penny looked at him and tilted her head. “We'll just get one bed then.” She said, before turning around and walking into the lobby of the hotel while he stood there stunned.
He made a strangled noise at the back of his throat and quickly followed her inside.
