My Love Is Alpha Phi

Who would have thought that the basketball-playing tomboy would become a gung-ho sorority sister? Haha... well, I am officially in LOVE with Alpha Phi.

I can't tell you how physically and emotionally exhausting the past 2 weeks were, but looking back, it was ALL 100% WORTH IT.

Starting last Wednesday, we woke up and practiced all things recruitment from 8 am to 8 pm. EVERY DAY. We had a few lunch breaks and that was about it. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) I was excused from a few dance practices to go work on the Fabulous Life of an Alpha Phi Video (which is AMAZING) and put together our slide shows. It is totally my fault because I volunteer and want to help out in any and every way possible, but I was SO overworked. I stayed up til about 1 am every night with random tasks that needed to be done. Everything from playlists to decorations.

Kaelin and I planned Preference Night (the most important night of all) and were also in charge of all the decorations for that. She was an amazing co-chair and there is no way I could have done it without her. We blew up pictures, ordered 130 roses, bought vases and tablecloths, pulled tons of stuff out of storage, and ran countless errands all week long. I will elaborate on pref in a little bit.

So after an intense (but fun) polish week, we were finally ready to meet the PNMs! (Potential New Members)

The week flew by ( I would go into detail but it would literally be a novel) and we ended up with the most AMZING PLEDGE CLASS EVER. That is no joke. I am not just saying that because I want to pretend like I love them. These girls are awesome. Very on top of it, go-getters, motivated, fun... the list goes on and on.

The best victory for me was preference night- Kaelin and I planned every little detail, from the decorations to the ceremony. I gave the big speech and I couldn't be more happy with it. When I was practicing it, there was no way I could get through it without crying... it wa a disaster!  But once I got on stage, it was like a little light bulb went on and I delivered it with just enough emotion.

I also preffed two incredible girls and they both went Alpha Phi so I am SO EXCITED.

Oh, how I love Alpha Phi!!!!

Here are some pics of bid day....
