Two days ago, I discovered a dog park in Centerville not far from my house. I thought, "Great! I'll take Jasmine! It will get her socialized with lots of dogs, and hopefully she'll get over the whole 'I'm so excited when another dog comes near!' thing." Thus far, it has worked beautifully. We've gone the past two nights, and there have been 30+ dogs there. The park is gigantic, with two fenced in areas, one for big dogs and one for little dogs. Jasmine has gotten to play, sniff, chase, and wrestle with all different types; the place looks like a Westminster show with the all the different dogs!
There is one not great thing about the dog park. While it's mostly grassy and nice, there are one or two mud pits. Our first night there, a big pack of dogs were running up and down the fence lines. Jasmine thought this was great and joined in. They kept running....right through the mud puddles. I had nothing in my car to prepare for this. Even better? Jasmine got tired and decided to lay down somewhere nice and cool. Right in the mud. The back seat of my car is a muddy mess. Last night, I take her again, and much fun is had. She stayed away from the mud pit for awhile. Then she got tired. She ACTIVELY looked for the mud pit, then went and layed down in it. *Headdesk*. At least I had a few towels this time. She's had to been hosed off twice in the past two days. She is no longer our prissy paws of a dog. I think I'm going to start calling her dirt devil!
