I never really gave up on getting out of this two star town...

Sometimes, Brainerd really reminds me of how small town we actually are.  In a most humorous way.

Friday afternoon:  I'm on my way home from running a work-related errand, heading down south 6th street.  As I go past the little strip mall with the local catering/restaurant in it, I notice the hand-written sign on white board in the parking lot.

"STOP IN FOR A HOT BEEF"

The first thing that passed my mind was a horribly inappropriate and sexually-oriented innuendo, and I think I almost passed out from laughter.

Now- fast forward to Sunday morning.  Bill's mom wants to go to brunch, so we head over to the Sawmill Inn for the buffet.  We pull in to the parking lot behind the building.  Now, keep in mind, the Sawmill recently went through a fairly extensive exterior remodel and I've not been there since, so I haven't really SEEN it.

Bill parks the car and I look up to the wall above the door.  There is a HUGE sign back there that says:

"WELCOME BACK DOOR GUESTS"

Oh. My.  GAWD.  Is it me?  It must be me.  I'm a filthy, disgusting-minded person.  I need to wash my brain off with soap.  *gets out the Ivory and a scrub brush*  I'll be back later.
