I wonder if Tim ever got the chance to sit in a Santa's lap? Love the detail in this. Especially the "there's a few white bulbs amongst the red and green ones where the paint had chipped off." That is so true! I remember those from my childhood! Took me a second to get used to Billy's verbalizing his crassness. I always thought of him as "internally crass." :) But the best part is the role you have Jason play in this whole scenario. He is so good for Tim because he doesn't have to live by excuses or by how people knew him any more. He actually had the chance to be reborn, and he's making the best of it. And, in doing that, he's helping others be better. Tim hasn't yet had something *entirely* new happen to him to force that kind of change. At least not in the real FNL 'verse (I'm sorry, Ferret Face doesn't cut it). And, actually, I hope he doesn't have as jarring a change as Jason did, because Tim's just about full up with pain -- a kind of growing rolling wave of it. Jay can bring change to Tim in a way Tim can handle without imploding. And, if Billy would come around, he could help. (Woo, sorry for long response. Ya got me goin'!)
Santa's lap...good question! You think he'd ever do it on a dare now? Write it! Write it!
I agree with your Tim analysis (all the time). He's just so tragic. I don't think he could handle much more pain, or an event as life-altering as Jason's, but he can get through minor changes with Jason's (and Billy's) help.
