so i'm making new friends in college.
yay!
the strange thing, for me at least-
-they're all straight boys.
let me explain. at home i knew all of... 3 straight boys well. and by that i mean talking and occasionally seeing each other outside of school. besides that it was the girls and the gays. overwhelmingly. where i always figured i wouldn't even know what to do if i ran into a straight dude. well i don't know what it is, but since i've been to college, the straight guys seem to be lovingggg me. i've become a bro. i do things with the same boys for hours everyday. i meet their other straight friends. i've been asked if i'm just living in their room. i'm privy to the smack they talk about other girls. they're trying to sport-me (i'm watching, but thus far they have no luck getting me to play). i love them. they're crazy fun.
so issue? the girls.
i live on an all girls floor (which, by the way, is not what i signed up for). i don't mind. they're all real nice and everything. they're just so... sweet. and quiet. and not really into nerd-ing it up or getting our goofy on. a couple seem like the could and are hesitant though, and what's wrong with some soft-spoken friends? nothing. they're a nice break from the boys. my only worry is i feel like i keep ditching the ladies. we haven't made express exact plans yet, but at the same time... i haven't been around to make plans with. some girls knock on my door. a few want my number. i feel sort of bad. and i also feel i might need a break from the same 2-3 guys after a bit. at the same time i don't want to overlap and be all up in my roommate's business. i get along with her real well and all, it's just we don't have that super-click and i don't want to see her like... all the time. that's annoying with anyone.
but yeah. going uptown with some girls on saturday. while typing this, i invited a girl that actually seems really awesome along with me and the boys to dinner tonight. i just want some girl friends. that would be awesome. i've never had this issue before. eeeeek!
