Worries and cancer

Just back from buying marigolds and cherry tomatoes, so spring planting is not far behind!  But hubby developed a migriane and I have a sinus headache so things won't get too far today.

Things aren't bad at our house but we have quite a few relatives that have major health issues to worry about. We have our uncle in Buffalo who has colon cancer and his daughter who is just getting through with a bout of the same. They had to take our part of her liver and had major chemo. The doctors have found a tumor on her brother's voicebox. We're waiting for results whether it's cancerous or not. And our nephew in Texas just had his native kidneys out on Monday-he had a kidney transplant from his wife last year. They keep the original ones in place until they are causing  trouble. He has polycystic  kidney disease. So when they kicked up trouble it was very painful. When they took them out they were the size of footballs. They figure out 9 inches and bubbly looking. Good news he is going home today! He can recover better at home- hospitals are not the best place to recover in.

I also worry about my parents, my mom has had several bouts of skin cancer- nothing very big so far - but it seems they are always cutting bits off of her. I go out with her weekly- we lunch and shop - it helps keep the blues away for her. My father just seems to worry and he has Meniere's disease ( trouble with the inner ear) so if he worries it flares up. You might as well tell a bird not to fly as tell him not to worry.

Good news! We leave for a week of vacation in Las Vegas at the end of the month - I really need it!

cancer, vacation, spring
